Kings Cross has long been recognised as a unique area and as the night-life capital of Sydney. Most major cities of the world have an area similar to Kings Cross. In London its Soho, New York has Times Square and Tokyo has The Ginza. The area has a fascinating and rich history from the time of the Kadigal tribe to the bohemian era of the 1920's & 30's to the present.

'The Cross' is packed with facilities including a naval base, hospitals, a railway station, schools, parks and over 400 licensed premises. Its main fame is its extensive adult entertainment area. Accomodations range from backpacker hostels to five star hotels. Residences range from public housing to some of the most expensive real estate in Australia.

Kings Cross has an estimated 25, 000 residents with 20% from non English speaking backgrounds. An estimated 800, 000 international visitors plus an incalculable number of internal visitors are attracted to the area each year making up a diverse range of people within the smallest police district in Australia.

There is an old saying, "You haven't seen Sydney until you've been to the Cross".



The above address is for the Woolloomooloo Police Station. There are two police stations within this LAC. However, Facebook is not allowing us to type in the Kings Cross address above as it has not supplied the suburb as an option for location.
