T’was the night before grading And all through the house Not a creature was stirring ... Not even a mouse.
The pine boards were stacked By the fire with care In the hopes they’re well-seasoned In the dry toastie air
Katas have been practiced Until our muscles have seized Our silent prayers echo Oh will Tasshi be pleased?
Wai Kru’s been rehearsed And polished to perfection Ready and waiting for Renshi’s inspection
There will be 3 hour basics A 6 kilometre run Push-ups and sit ups There’s no end to the fun!
We’ve packed mouth guards and shin pads Sleeping bags too Uniforms, running shoes This pillow’s for you.
Who’s watching the children (I thought you’d organised that) I’ve got the foam roller Are the neighbours feeding the cat?
And now we’re all nestled down snug in our beds Visions of black belts and black patches Dance in our heads
Come on guys we’ve got this! Its time that we show them (Perhaps I could get extra points for this poem?)
Kyoshi we’re ready ! We’re up for the fight SO GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
