The Bondi Junction Kyokushin Karate Club has been training students for over four decades. The instructors at Bondi Junction have had combined over 100 years experience in the practise and teaching of Karate. The Bondi Junction Kyokushin Karate Club has classes seven days a week (except for holidays and special events).
Karate is both an art and a philosophy, because each person has a different personality which reflects itself in the interpretation of karate. The word “karate” means “empty hand” and “kyokushin” means “ultimate truth”.
The Bondi Junction Kyokushin Karate Club is also the Australian and South Pacific Headquarters of the International Karate Organization under the leadership of President Yoshikazu Matsushima (IKO-Matsushima).

Another picture for the Kyokushin history lovers .. This picture was taken in 1974 in Japan.... From left to right Peter Wolfe, Sato and me on the end (right). I can't remember the name of the black belt next to me .. On the 1st and 2nd of November in 1975 the first ever world championship's was held under the International Kyokushin Organisation in Tokyo, Japan... .. There were teams from 35 countries .. Katsuaki SATO was the first ever world Kyokushin champion in 1975 (second on the left in this picture) .. Peter Wolf was the first Australia Champion .. OSU👊 .. FUN FACT .. In 1988 the action film "The Punisher" staring a Kyokushin Legend @dolphlundgren was filmed in Sydney Australia .. This is a picture taken at the time of the filming. Dolph and my 2 sons, Anthony on the left and John on the right... .. Most of the extras in the movie were Kyokushin students from my dojos in Australia .. I also had a small cameo in the movie 😂😂 .. Last weekend at camp, Bondi Junction student and Coogee dojo operator Senpai Lisa Hodder attempted and successfully completed a 50 man kumite test. Senpai was fierce and strong in her kumite and we are all so proud of her in achieveing this monumental challenge! Osu 👊

Just a friendly reminder that not only is the camp/senior grading + junior grading just over 2 weeks away there will be the annual Kempo Ryu Australian tournament held the following week ( 3.5 weeks away).
If you are competing please ensure you fill in your registration form asap to ensure it is submitted. A great tournament for children and adults who are looking to gain experience for the upcoming tournament year in non and full contact fighting as well as kata.... It is also an exciting event to witness- so even if you are not fighting come along on the day, support our fighters who have been training hard for this and have a drink afterwards in the Rocks.
