Peaceful and a verity of books to choose from

Nice atmosphere and it's always peaceful and quiet when I come in. A large variety of resources and study rooms. Enjoyable library compared with other North Shore libraries.

The Telstra mobile coverage is terrible – voice calls and my work VPN on 4G both dropped out many times. This makes it useless for me. Ironic that it’s only a few 100m from the phone exchange (on top of which antennas are normally placed.).
Library Wifi I found uselessly slow at about 2Mbps – I had to use my own 4G wifi modem.
I had to make a phone call. This is their highly subjective mobile phone policy,
“Please do not make unreasonable noise including loud talking on mobile phones.”,
I went to a part of the library many meters from all other users of the library. However I was not far from a desk in the middle of the library with 2 staff at it. One of them walks over to me and asks to the take the call outside the library. I asked her who I had disturbed – she did not answer – I guess that means no one – why is a librarian making a fuss out of nothing – a dogmatic non-pragmatic administration of a subjective policy. I moved into the copier room with phone – it was OK.
There are lots of power points on desks – excellent and better than most libraries.
There are no signs anywhere to set expectation about noise. This means it does not cater well for diverse uses. It is a beautiful library with nice views out the southern windows.
I was there all day 27 & 28jul17. I sat near the southern windows both days. On 28jul it was windy and there was a constant rattle which sounded every few seconds all day – it was very distracting – at about 2pm I moved to ‘Youth’ room which was quiet until some school kids were instructing grannies about the Internet (very kind of them) It was not too noisy.

Spacious library with a huge amount of study space. Knowledgeable staff and easy parking. Whenever I come here it is always quiet and peaceful, compared with some other libraries I go to. A+

A spacious library that is rarely over crowded, generally quiet and there are plenty of tables (with power points!) to sit and do some study.

Free wifi; albeit not particularly fast, but adequate for most purposes. Public restrooms nearby.

Additionally, staff are friendly and helpful

They have a great variety of books, maganzines and dvds. Free wifi and public restrooms as well.

Slowest WiFi ever
