I’m a bit torn as I like that they’re cheap, friendly and quick but wax is double dipped with the spatula which makes me a bit uneasy (germs) though it seems you get that in almost every salon

I work close by and normally make an appointment before my visit, however whenever I’ve just walked in I’ve been able to get a spot quickly still. I usually see Mel as she’s very professional, experienced and a great laugh. From my experience, the rest of the girls are friendly and professional too. I feel like this business has an unfair amount of negative reviews based on first impressions only. I work in customer service and agree that first impressions are crucial, but I don’t think it’s the be all and end all of a visit. I can only speak from my own experience and I’m certainly a regular customer and feel comfortable recommending this business/venue.

1 star, only because I could not give 0.
I went for a Brazilian, not the first time I've done one and the girls were friendly, not rude, that is not what my complaint is about and also the minimum standard of customer service that is required in any establishment.
I've never felt so much pain as I did that day, I thought maybe it is because I had not done it in a while, and they say that some people are more sensible and quick to complain, so I thought let's wait and see if it is me being too sensible or if she really did a bad job. It kept burning. I got home and washed with a soap for intimate parts and put some coconut oil and argan oil. That helped with the burning sensation and it stopped but it was still red and warm. 8h after my appointment I was checking the damage with a mirror when the mirror became foggy from the heat coming from my skin. That is not standard and I also saw that there was various hairs left over. Also my white panties had bloody dots (I was not on my period)!
The next day seeing that I was still red I decided to go and get my money back. I went there and the manager checked me out, to see if what I was saying was true ( they looked at me like if I was being fussy). The manager had a look at the damage and I could see her micro expressions of indeed it was badly done but she acted like if it was normal and said, "I can see there is a bruise there, that can happened, it is very normal" Normal?? only when the job is done badly, If I pay $35 for a professional to do it, it is because I want to avoid those rookie mistakes. But it seems that at Leah's waxworks they consider a bad job normal.
I was talking calm, not even angry, I was more worried about my private area being burned and bruised than angry or anything like that. Because I was so calm, she did not even offer to reimburse me. She just went, I will give you this (used) bepanol and apply it on the bruise, actually you can apply it everywhere (because she saw how everywhere was damaged too). You can keep it, she said like if it was a wonderful gift, an already half used bepanol. I asked if I could get part of my money back and she went no straight away. So I requested a gift voucher like the lady, I spoke to on the phone before getting there, said would be offered. So she cave in and said yes, I could give you a gift voucher for next time. I don't want to go back there but that is the only thing they would give me. It has been 3 days and I'm already fluffy down there, I did not know that a waxing lasted 3 days???? The manager added, next time request Jess.
The girl that did the bad job was alessia or alicia black hair, green/blue eyes, short, bulky, Italian looking girl. Apparently she is still learning, well she is maybe good at eyebrows or legs but if she is not good at Brazilians please don't let her do those. When I spoke to the manager about her, she said yes I will tell her. They obviously don't strive for quality. I'm not even sure to use the voucher and giving it to a friend does not sound as nice as it should.

Been there heaps. Cheap, fast and usually do a pretty good job considering.. depends on the person you get. Had one not so great wax out of a dozen

When I first came here I was expecting to turn into a "bronze godess" but was significantly underwhelmed. I obviously should of seen the red flags when the worker I was greeted by was as orange as the dirt in Alice springs. I can truly say that I will never ever ever in my life come back here because of the bullying and torture I had to withstand for being ORANGE!!!!! Angry customer never again #leahswaxworksisoverparty *drops mic*.

No joke this is my first review ever. I usually resent people who write reviews but I’m angry right now I need to get this out. 1 star. I wouldn’t give it even that, but I didn’t have to wait long as it’s basically a factory that pumps out terrible eyebrow jobs by the second.

I’m telling you, I’ve never had a worse/careless job done (and I’ve had some pretty bad ones in my 25 years). I should have known from her outrageous eyebrows that I wasn’t coming out of that room prettier than I went in. But my tragic tale starts like this…. First the girl didn’t care as she just started ripping my hair off. I could tell she wasn’t even comparing the brows to each other. And then came the mindless plucking random hairs with no direction. I told her what I wanted, which was achievable because it’s what I usually do and get from other beauticians. When she was almost done, she started saying oh well its patchy so this is how it’s going to look (instead of what I asked for).

And quickly ushered me out of the room to move on to her next victim. My brows look different now and I’m pissed off to say the least. Every woman knows that’s eyebrows can change your face and make you a goddess or take you down the path of a two week nightmare until they’ve grown back to fix.

All I’m saying to this girl is that eyebrow karma will come to bite you. And although my eyebrows will be complete chaos for the next two weeks, I have satisfaction knowing that your time will come. Lets all thank our lucky stars that she isn’t in charge of something like lifesaving surgery. Cause this girl should not put “pays attention to detail” on her resume.

As you can see in the picture… those are two different brows. Come on guys. Get it together. And when someone is going to pay and you see their eyebrows look terrible as they leave, hold your staff accountable.

This review is directly dedicated to one of the staff members who work at Leah's wax works. I got my eyebrow's waxed by the most ignorant beautician. She gave my eyebrows two completely different shapes, and over plucked one of them leaving patches which I'm so embarrassed about. I understand that with my eyebrows they grow differently, but never in my life have I had eyebrows look so different to each other - it's ridiculous. While she was doing my eyebrows she was also distracted, and did not take her time on me what so ever. I'm so disappointed because the last time I had gotten my eyebrow's done there, another lady did them perfectly hence why I returned. Honestly I got scared when I saw her eyebrows because they were so awful, and I don't think it's a good sales pitch to have someone with eyebrows like hers trying to perfect other people's. I sound mean, but customers shouldn't pay for service like the service she gave me.
