And that's a wrap! Great weekend going deep into the big lifts with these legends on the Big on Basics: Squat and Deadlift course. We assessed, mobilised, stabilised and…got our lift on. Massive improvements were made in positional awareness and lifting technique. Awesome weekend- awesome crew!

Today we pondered our 'Why'. This is what we decided...

Usually I do my weekly cardio session on Saturday with Soultrain but this morning they were strength testing. We were lifting on the clock so it felt like Cardio but I was still too slow to get up to my weights for a PB attempt.
Deadlift- 210kg. After my last warm up at 180kg I jumped to 210kg. It was too big of a jump and I made it look heavy
Bench Press- 130kg. This was my last warm up set. I opened my account at 140kg (and failed)
... Squat- 160kg. This was easy but i ran out of time to do more. Chins were calling.
Chin Ups- I wanted 20 but ran out of juice.

Do you even CARRY? Loaded Carries are a great way to train strength. They are easy to coach as they are not technical and can be done as an accessory to the Big Lifts, as a replacement exercise when you cant lift or as a conditioning exercise. We use Bodyweight on a Trap bar for 100meters as a standard. Here’s @julianjamesfitness crushing his 100meters. How do you do?
