What a Book Week we had!
Books are treasure that children sometimes forget to explore in this tech savvy life. The Book week allowed the children to learn to appreciate treasure of books. Each day children brought in a book from home to read with their peers and share their favourite stories with their friends.
At Georges Hall, The children also had an opportunity to participate in the book parade. The children had so much fun dressing up into characters from their favourit...e books and comic books. The children got to dress into charters like, cat in a hat, box troll, princess, fairies and superheroes . Our educators also dressed up in fairytale outfits to make book parade more special. The children had opportunities to participate in various activities like book reading, face painting, craft activities and play dough & Lego story creations. We invited families to join in and witness the parade
Not only that, we had an author Joanne Laoulach coming in and reading a book "Energetic Ebony and Lazy luke" The book allowed the children to talk about Mighty con who lives in our body, who needs healthy food to keep us active and energetic. We had fun meeting the author and receiving a signed book. We thank all the families who came to visit the parade and and made our event a successful one. #littlekingdomchildcare #Bookweek2018 #Bookparade2018 #energeticebonylazyluke #joannelaoulach

Hatch 'n' Grow at Little Kingdom, The Rocks ¤ÉŻ¤ÆĢ
It was with great anticipation that the children and educators at Little Kingdom awaited the arrival of Hatch 'n' Grow, on Monday August 6th. ’┐ĮSeveral children and educators flocked around the friendly Hatch 'n' Grow rep as she set up the incubator and hatch in our Nursery Room. We didn't have to wait too long before our first egg started to hatch! ¤źÜ¤ö£ ¤ÉŻ ’┐ĮThis was a very exciting moment, as the children and educators had been ...watching and waiting very patiently! It was so lovely to see how fascinated all of the children were, just waiting for this - from our youngest children right up to the oldest ones! ¤æČ¤Å╗¤æ¦¤ÅĮ¤¦Æ¤Å╝¤æ®¤Å╗
The children continued to visit them in our Nursery area throughout the week, fascinated to see how quickly they were growing! ¤”å The ducklings were soon grown enough to enjoy indoor and outdoor swims water ¤Æ” , which they seemed to relish! All of the children were so thrilled to see this exciting event! Some of the children even named the ducklings. ŌĆśCheep CheepŌĆÖ was just one of the wonderful suggestions! The children were also keen to show off the ducklings to their parents! ¤æ½
Having Hatch 'n' Grow at the Centre was such a positive experience for the children and educators alike! We all had an opportunity to experience new life first hand and learn more about the natural world. It was also a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn about taking care of animals and all that they need to grow and thrive. We were so fortunate to be able to share this lovely experience with the children and their families. ¤śŖ¤æŹ¤Å╗

The children and educators at Little Kingdom, The Rocks spent last week celebrating NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK!
Our amazing educators worked hard to plan a range of fun and engaging experiences that encouraged the children to explore and learn about colour, sound, texture and more!
Materials such as paint, 'slime', water filled containers, sand and water were made available to the children. They were given time to handle, smell, observe and listen to these materials to find out mo...re about them and their properties. Children discovered that ice melts and returns to liquid. They also discovered that some materials are made translucent when light is shone through them. They discovered what happens when ingredients such as vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and food colouring are combined! Having Hatch 'n' Grow at the Centre allowed the children to experience first hand life cycles of ducks, which was very exciting!
The educators supported the children's learning through asking 'open ended' questions (focusing on 'How...?', 'What if...?' 'What might happen when...?). These questions encourage children to make predictions and propose creative solutions to challenges that arise! Skills such as predicting, problem solving and experimenting stand children in good stead as they grow into young adulthood!
The children and educators worked together during Science Week to share their knowledge and ideas, explore, problem solve and learn more about the world around them. By providing children with opportunities for active participation, educators see how engaged the children are in their learning and know that the depth of knowledge and understanding is increased.
We will continue to support children's learning and understanding that focus on scientific concepts through ongoing opportunities for discovery, hypothesizing, asking questions and problem solving.

Little Kingdom Georges Hall's Preschoolers were invited to Woolworths Bass hill. The children took part in Woolworth's Discovery Tour. We had opportunity to learn about various fruits and vegetables and where they come from. We were invited to make our own donuts and decorate them in woolworth's bakery. The children had opportunity to visit the butcher's corner and see how the meat is packed. Before finishing our tour, we had opportunity to enjoy some fresh fruits. The child...ren received their little shopping bags and a certificate for being part of the Woolworth's Discovery Tour. We would like to thank parents who volunteered as without them the trip would not have been possible. We would also like to thank Woolworth's Basshill for educational and fun tour. #littlekingdomchildcare #Woolworths #woolworthsdiscoverytour #sydenychildcare #healthyeating #excursions

Grandparents Day! ¤śĆ At Little Kingdom Georges Hall, We invited grandparents to be part of a little celebration, to say thank you to them for being part of children's lives. Grandparents are very important part of children's early development. Grandparents teach children to love, care and respect. They teach traditions, mother language and culture which allow the children to be diverse and creative. We organised a Tea party ŌśĢ for all our grandparents. We also cooked Marshmal...low on open fire for our gradparents. We enjoyed playing play dough, Blocks, reading books and blowing bubbles with our grdanparents and educators. We also invited Happy Feet so children can show off their dance moves and fun way to learn to our grandparents. The children were proudly showing of their skills to their grandparents. We had so much fun ¤ÆÜ¤Æø¤¦Ī We thank all our families who took time off their busy day and attended Grandparent's day.

Climbing, jumping and running!¤ÅĆ¤æ¤¤ÅāŌĆŹŌÖé’ĖÅ¤żĖ¤Å┐ŌĆŹŌ Öé’ĖÅ
To extend on the childrenŌĆÖs growing interest in climbing and their physical development the Sharks (Preschool Room)visited the King George V Recreation Centre. It is important to provide children with challenges to allow their learning continue. Ōø╣¤Å╝ŌĆŹŌÖĆ’ĖÅ¤żĖ¤Å╝ŌĆŹŌÖĆ’ĖÅ¤Åō
The playground at King George V provided that challenge with a large slide, multiple balls¤ÄŠŌÜĮ’ĖÅ, a soccer net¤źģ, huge climbing frames and a cubby house ¤ÅĀ along with a large place for... the children to run and explore nature just to name a few. The children were very keen and excited to have a turn at all of the equipment. It was the slide that was the winner with many of the children climbing the large net to reach the slide. Some children found creative ways to use the space as they played princesses ¤æĖ¤Å╗ in the cubby house, cars ¤ÜŚ as the ran in the wide open space and superheroes as they climbed the frames and jumped on the mats.
We are so excited for the next excursion to King George V Recreation Centre. ¤śŖ¤æŹ¤Å╗ #littlekingdomtherocks #childcaresydney #childcaretherocks #childcareexcursion

ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance and commemoration of all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars.
To mark this occasion, our Little Kingdom pre-schoolers have been engaged in a learning journey of Remembrance! The children have created their own poppies ¤īĘ with some great artistic flair and turned the poppies into two wreaths that we placed on the War Memorial at Martin Place.
During our amazing excursion the children received flowers ...from our friendly local florist ¤źĆ and had a surprise visit from the local policemen ¤æ«ŌĆŹŌÖĆ’ĖÅ as well as a very special visit from Ken who served in the Korean War. Ken spoke to the children about his medals¤Ä¢’ĖÅ, his work as a UN correspondent and the meaning and importance of the poppy¤īĘ and rosemary he was wearing.
Thank you ¤ÖÅ¤Å╝ to all the brave servicemen and servicewomen who sacrifice so much to keep us safe! This experience taught the children gratitude, engaging with the local community, road safety and good manners!
Thank you to all our educators and parents for a wonderful excursion! ¤æÅ¤śĆ

We had a wonderful Easter Celebration at Little Kingdom Childcare, The Rocks. Families and carers were invited to join in the fun and we began our celebration with a special Easter morning tea. Our amazing chef Maria prepared some yummy pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit salad and of course Hot Cross Buns!
After morning tea, we put on our Easter hats for the annual Easter hat parade. The Easter hat parade was an opportunity for children, with assistance from their parents, to ...get creative and make their own Easter hats.
We then got more creative with some Easter arts and craft activities, including marble egg painting, Easter sensory boxes and Easter baskets.
While the children were participating in the activities we had a very special visitor, the Easter Bunny.
Thank you to all our families for working so hard on the beautiful hats and costumes and to the Easter bunny for dropping by! We all had a wonderful time! ¤ÉŻ ¤ÆĢ

As a teacher and a mother I have to say that it has been my best decision, joining the team and enrolling my daughters at LK The Rocks. There is a great and friendly environment where we feel loved and cared at all times. My daughters have developed and learnt through play, many skills and abilities that now are helping them in their first steps at primary school. It feels like a second home for us and itŌĆÖs grateful to see them happy every time they attend or come for a visit!!!

As a teacher, I must said that we have a great educational program with qualified teachers and educators that make childrenŌĆÖs learning and development a fun and excited adventure.
