Taichiquan (ๅคชๆฅตๆ‹ณ) is known to be the best medicational chinese martial arts right now. Most people has perceived this martial art as their ultimate way of relaxation and medication, but not considered this style as "martial arts". Michael aims to break this cycle; there are more than merely the meditation side of Tai Chi. Practical uses are often explained through practice and they should be imbued within one's mind when practicing in s peaceful mind.
WHAT DO WE TEACH? - Chen...-style Taichi - Traditional/Old frame, Set 1, 75 movements, Chen Qingzhou lineage. This lineage of Chen Style is known to be the most ancient, and the most preserved form and movements when compared with other lineages. As one of most distinguishable difference, In the routine itself, the implications have been included in the practice. - Fundamental exercises derived from Chen Xiaowang's set of fundamental exercises. - Single movement exercises - Applications of the movements - Push hand practices
WHAT'S A CLASS LIKE? - We run through fundamentals together as a group, and complete routines as a group. - THEN, we are separated into groups of different levels. Everyone has their progress, so there is no need to worry if you are NEW, or you will fall behind. You only fall behind yourself.
HOW LONG DO I NEED TO COMMIT? - The set consists of 75 named movements, 84 if including unlisted movements. It takes about 80 weeks to complete learning the set, and possibly a bit more to learn the applications.
WHEN AND WHERE? - Venue: Dance Studio, UTS Ross Milbourne Sportshall. - Main session: Sunday 10am-12pm. - Training: Sunday 8.30am-10am.

My experience with M Cube Tai Chi Academy can be summed up as absolutely "mind-blowing"! Studying Tai Chi has opened me to the martial arts world and chinese medicine. I initially came for the health benefits but stayed for its martial and philosophical attributes as well as the friendly people. Tai Chi is a way of life and its benefits can only be understood through consistent practice. Some of the rather quick benefits that I noticed is the improvement of posture and memory, and as a student this has helped me academically. Moreover, I feel safer now due to the martial elements that is generally overlooked regarding the art. This is only the surface based on my one year experience of learning so far and I could write endlessly, however I highly recommend people try out for at least a month. Some things cannot be understood till it is experienced, Chen Tai Chi at M Cube is one of them. By the way, watching the instructor is like watching a Yuen Woo Ping film, so if you're into martial art films it's a treat!
