Be track side as the world’s leading drivers and riders pit their skills on the challenging road circuit of the 65th Macau Grand Prix. The race meeting is held annually and is known for being the only street circuit racing event in which both car and motorcycle races are held. The first Macau Grand Prix event was held in 1954, as a sports car event. In 1961, the title race became an open-wheel Formula Libre event. The event has also had a variety of support races in its durati...on. The highlight of the race weekend is the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix, featuring many national Formula Three champions and drivers from around the world, with the winner being awarded the FIA Formula 3 World Cup. Due to the challenging nature of the circuit, which consists of fast straights (a Formula Three car can reach a top speed of 275 km/h at the end of the straight), tight corners and uncompromising crash barriers, the Macau Grand Prix is famously known as one of the most demanding circuits in the world. Many current or former Formula One drivers have participated in the event early in their careers and some of them have won the prestigious prize. Famous winners include Riccardo Patrese, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher, Takuma Sato, Lucas di Grassi, Edoardo Mortara, António Félix da Costa and Felix Rosenqvist. http://en.macaotourism.gov.mo/events/majo revent_detail.php…

Still can't believe I was able to visit this amazing place. Like Hong Kong, it's full of contrasts and has a fascinating fusion of cultures resulting from their political history. Macao - Portuguese & Chinese; Hong Kong - English and Chinese. 🌿
I love taking the time to learn as much of a country's history as I can before going and while I'm there. I find it helps in your recognition & appreciation of the little things that make somewhere truly special and sometimes altogethe...r unique. So grateful for the privilege of travel #sundayreflections 💛 (📷: @lifebycyndi ) . I wanna know: What's the most culturally interesting place you've ever visited? 🤷‍♀️ Comment below 👇 👇 .

First time in Macao, so excited! Didn't expect that Macao would be so interesting. I'm in love with the blend of Chinese and Portugese culture and the weather been very pleasant too, sunny with temperature around 24 degrees celcius. Here I was, at the iconic Ruins of St. Paul's. The rest of the building was burnt during the typhoon leaving the front wall only. Good that it wasn't that busy. Will show you guys the look of the city for the next couple days with @visitmacao (📷: @littlenomadid ) . . . #travel #macao #ExperienceMacaoYourOwnStyle #visitmacao #worldplaces #bestplacestogo #earthpic #passionpassport #natgeo #lonelyplanet #instatravel #travelgram #wanderlust #MeetTheWorld #natgeotravel #bbctravel #ig_travel #ig_landscape #worldtravel #travelbff #iamtb #travelinladies

Ahoy, shipmates . . . a different way to see the sights of Macao and its waterfront is aboard a 50-year-old sailing junk, Macao's last existing traditional junk (built at the local Coloane shipyards). Each Saturday, Macau Sailing takes up to 44 seafarers on a 3hr sunset cruise that has cameras snapping, price 350MOP per adult (about $A60). www.macausailing.com #visitmacao #wowmacao #macao #macausailing

As Macao prepares to host its 3rd International Film Festival and Awards (IFFAM) from December 8-14, it's nice to know one film critic sees a bright future for the Asian centre. Hong Kong film critic Clarence Tsui said a colourful colonial past presented local filmmakers an “edge” that was absent to Hong Kong cinema. "Local filmmakers should delve more into the city’s history for movie ideas," Tsui told Macau News Agency. “Macao has such a long and colourful history stretching back to the 15th century, just in terms of colonial rule. Just that period alone in which modern Macao was born there were so many stories to be told and so many different perspectives to look to the Past in order to understand the Present and confront the Future,” he said. Such refreshing words. #visitmacao #wowmacao #macao #IFFAM www.iffamacao.com

IT'S ALL ABOUT SOUL . . . Within a few strides from Macao's prime tourist attraction, the Ruins of St Paul's, is a quaint wine bar - Macau Soul - which boasts over 400 tasty labels in the cellar, primarily Portuguese. And, yes, the bar has some delicious dishes to match the wines. #visitmacao #macao #macausoul #wowmacao #tasteofmacao http://www.macausoul.com
