Made At Sea

About Made At Sea

Seaweed Blooms are increasing in frequency and size, they dump millions of tonnes of seaweed on to beaches worldwide. Decomposing seaweed impacts tourism and releases millions of tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Made-at-Sea employs a number of existing assets and technologies to collect, process and capture the value locked away within the Blooms. Utilising decommissioned oil rigs to collect Seaweed before it hits the beaches, we Pyrolyze it to create a soil abatement called Biochar. Biochar permanently sequesters the carbon, increases the land fertility and locks away nitrates which prevents spawning more Blooms. Pyrolyzing Seaweed produces heat which is converted into Green Electricity and also green Hydrogen. The Bio-oil which is produced from Pyrolysis is refined using Hydrogenation to create monomers which form the basis for bio-plastics. Scaling to hundreds of locations will safely and economically draw down Gigatonnes of CO2 whilst generating Billions of Dollars in Revenue
