Maison Paul Furniture was established in 1953 by William Malley (Bill). Bill wanted to be able to bring to the Australian people an Australian company that could manufacture hand-made furniture of the highest quality and create not just pieces of furniture but pieces of unique craftsmanship.

In 1971 a young migrate from Italy joined the Maison Paul team by the name of Settimo Bordin (Setty). Setty studied and trained in Italy where he became an accomplished furniture designer and maker. It was in 1983 upon Bill’s retirement from the trade that Setty could not bare to see this form of craftsmanship simply disappear, and to Bill’s delight decided to continue under the name of Maison Paul Furniture Designs opening a new manufacturing outlet in Lansvale NSW and continued to design and create exclusive hand crafted furniture that Maison Paul had become renowned for. There was and is no need for the Australian public to search abroad for exquisite pieces of furniture that was once only available in such countries as Italy, France or other European provinces.

Over many years Maison Paul Furniture has been responsible for the complete furnishings of many elegant homes, prestigious executive suites and boardrooms.

With over 50 years experience, for Setty designing and carving furniture out of timber has never just been a career and always more than an art it is and always will be an affair of the heart and soul. Setty has often said “You take me away from timber and I get lost”.

After all, hand-made furniture is the result of years, or in my case, a lifetime of dedication.
