Manta Restaurant

Had a refreshing and delicious dining experience at Manta. Very fresh fish, delicately prepared and served with a smile. Loved it!

My partner and I dined here on a Saturday night. We bought the Groupon secret menu curated by Masterchef Adam Liaw with hopes of being surprised. The food was very average for a "fine dining" restaurant, and the service was extremely snobbish. The dessert was a complete joke and was something that tasted like it was bought from Woolworths' frozen icecream aisle. I can understand why this restaurant is no longer a chef hatted restaurant... there are so many other restaurants in Sydney with much better quality food, value and service!

I Treated 4 of my girlfriends for dinner as a thank you. We were not disappointed. I love the buzz of woolloomooloo wharf. The food was delicious and plentiful, service excellent and a great wine list! Highly recommend.

The food and service was all first class. My meal turned out to be a very special surprise as I rarely eat beef. This resturant is now one of my favourites and I'll be a regular from now on.

Food was really good and it had a beautiful wharf to look onto. I got situated underneath a broken fan which was streaming on cold air. Otherwise, great place to eat, the whiting is magnificent.

Every time I travel to Sydney I always try to dine at Manta as this restaurant is on of my favourites. The food is consistently good, delicious flavours and the staff are always helpful and professional, I like asking for their recommendations. The location on the wharf is one of the best in Sydney.

Upmarket seafood restaurant with a pleasant view of the city skyline. Tasty and fresh seafood, beautifully presented, including some interesting dishes with Japanese flavours, etc. You must order the truffle fries! Crab pasta was also particularly delicious. Great for a romantic date or special occasion - not too noisy or crammed. The open air setting is wonderful on a warm night - but the tables are undercover with heaters, so don't be put off if there's a chance of rain or a colder evening. Service was a little inattentive, but better than getting rushed out the door. We will go back.

Fantastic food service atmosphere

We recently celebrated our 18th anniversary at Manta. We chose the 'Seafood Experience' degustation menu, which we found excellent. It was a great selection of fresh, delicious seafood with a balanced progression of flavours from the fresh oysters, kingfish carpaccio, scallop ceviche and smoked salmon belly, to the outstanding blue swimmer crab lasagne and lobster sliders, seared scallops, whole baked fish, and grilled king prawns with truffle and Parmesan fries, topped off with a lovely 'deconstructed' pavlova.

Service was a little shaky, and somewhat impersonal and inattentive, at the beginning, but improved as the night progressed, and caught up to the quality of the food and location by the end of the night. Admittedly it was a relatively busy evening as Sydney well and truly enters its summer party season.

Manta is in a lovely spot, especially on a warm summer day/night, in a wharf setting with the sun setting and the city lights coming on as a backdrop, with a coincidental super moon offering an unexpected celestial display for our special dinner.

A long time fave, Manta continues to maintain a high standard. Great food, excellent service. Today it was a celebration and the focus was on the cocktails and desserts - all were excellent.

Great service and moderately priced food. I really enjoyed the vanilla creme brûlée with Guinness ice cream. The brown Swiss mushrooms and the whole flounder were quite flavorful.
