We stayed at the Mantra after securing a TV travel show promo offer. We had exceptional customer service from Melanie at reception. The apartment is very clean and the resort very close to all Nelson Bay has to offer. Excellent.

Great for families. try to avoid a pool view room unless screaming kids are music to your ears. Nice outdoor barbecue area with plenty of seating. Short walk into Nelson Bay. My kids really like this place.

Well equipped 2 bedroom apartment. Perfect size for a family of four and at a reasonable price. Short walk to the town centre and marina. Facilities onsite are ok with a nice pool, gym and some games.

Great stay over the Easter weekend, superior two bedroom apartment. Very clean, close to the town centre and harbour.
One piece of advice, make sure when checking out give your self plenty of time, the lifts are dreadful. Alway full of other people checking out and housekeepers and there trolleys. Waiting around 10 minutes each time I needed the lift to take luggage down to car park.
That would be the only downside of this relaxing weekend. I would stay here again.

Located just off the main streets, you are an easy walk to all of the restaurants, pubs and (most importantly) the beach. We parked the car at the start of the weekend and didn't need it again until we checked out.

The staff are great and there's very good systems for late check-ins. The hotel policies can sound a little strict on paper but you have to remember there's permanent residents there and a strata code that would apply. Don't worry, it's not heavily enforced and it's all really common-sense kind of stuff.

Where it loses some points is that the rooms are a little dated and some of the furnishings and fixtures have seen better days. It's mostly cosmetic damage, which isn't a deal-breaker for me.

Overall, much like other Mantra hotels I've stayed in, this is one of those places that's great value if you want a convenient location over some of the luxury trimmings.

Recently stayed with elderly parents, upgraded to an executive penthouse suite (thank you so much) great view for my dad who doesn't get out a lot, close to town, marina, clubs, cinema. Lovely and clean, well appointed in all areas and those little extras that are always great. Although weather wasn't the best we had a great time just because our apartment was so cumfy and big. Seriously well worth the visit.
