A professional Dancer for many years, Mary Ellen Geer is a member of the well known Keyes-Hayes family of musicians and artists from Melbourne and Sydney. Originally trained in the Cecchetti method of classical ballet and the ISTD (Musical Comedy) then the latter Royal Academy of Dancing (Martha Graham technique and American Jazz), Mary built her own studio in 1960, is a director of her own company and an international adjudicator. At least ten of her former students are now dancing overseas.
Mary Ellen Geer has experienced: Tv appearances; Examining, Judging, Lecturing, Workshops and Seminars. Teaching and /or examining in Sydney and districts of Liverpool, Baulkam Hills, St George, North Coast, South Coast, Western Districts, Queensland, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmania, Port Moresby, New Zealand.

During her performance years Mary Ellen studied Physiology, Anatomy, Drama and Production, and holds the secretarial Diploma, Fourth Year Accountancy and Business Management.
In the past years, many students have graduated from the “Mary Geer Dance Academy” and eight of these have opened studios in New South Wales, increasing the membership of the Company by 1120. These students were trained in all facets of the Art.
