UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST - KEEP AWAY!!!
We recently moved to Australia and being new to the city, we found McDonald Automotive Services, Islington through an internet search. We took our car to them for an inspection. They gave us a quote of almost $1100 and a list of things "wrong" with our car that needed to be fixed; many of which surprised us. We weren't convinced these repairs were actually required and went to another auto repair shop for a second opinion. The second mechanic charged us just $60 for the same job and confirmed that McDonalds Automotive Services had quoted unwarranted costs of over $1000 for supposedly fixing parts that were not broken and did not need replacement. We had heard that some places can charge higher than others but were SHOCKED and very disappointed that anyone with a conscience could charge $1100 for a $60 job. They were dishonest and looking to make a quick buck off newcomers to the city. THIS IS UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND QUITE FRANKLY, IS DOWNRIGHT FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOUR.

We've been taking our cars here for years. Always happy with the service these guys provide.

** STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOT **
Had a Mazda 323 petrol tank leak "fixed" years back. On the surface you'd think this would be a straight forward repair, but you'd be wrong. Can't remember how much these rip-off merchants
charged me, but it wasn't cheap. Back it went, without my car for I don't know how long, picked
it up (but only after I had to inquire how long it will be, and only then to be told it was ready to be
picked up a few days back) and it still leaked! If these "mechanics" (and I use that term loosely)
cant get a simple leaking petrol tank leak fixed, how can they get the hard stuff done, like change a tyre ? Not cheap, not professional & to be avoided like the plague. Use a reputable mechanic & do your homework first. If you want to "discuss", contact me on YouTube.
