Irish dancing is a great way to be active, have fun and increase a child's musicality. The McGrath Academy of Irish Dancing offers an opportunity for children to receive quality Irish Dancing instruction in a relaxed and child friendly environment.

Katie McGrath is excited to be establishing the McGrath Academy of Irish Dancing in Ashbury NSW. She looks forward to teaching a new generation of children Irish Dancing, whether they wish to compete themselves or to be involved simply for enjoyment.

Katie McGrath started Irish Dancing in Sydney at the age of 5 and danced competitively for over 20 years. She competed both Nationally and Internationally in this time and won numerous State and National titles both in solo and team dancing. She placed in the World Championships in 2002.

Under the tutelage of the renowned Janice Currie, Katie was offered a contract to dance in Riverdance- the Show and toured Asia and Europe with them in both the Liffey and Avoca companies.

In 2005 she completed her Irish Dancing teaching qualification with distinction results. She has since been registered with An Coimisiun Ireland, AIDA Australia and NSW and is therefore able to enter children in competition dancing.
