Using a pair of man boobs to educate the importance of examining your breasts - genius!
Ladies & Gents, know what your breasts look and feel like and if you notice any changes - always seek medical advice as soon as possible!

🚨Local Heroes Alert!!!🚨
The folks at BP St Helens Tasmania are an incredible bunch! Through their in-store promotion they managed to raise more than $3,000 for the McGrath Foundation - with 1 in 3 customers donating to the Foundation, how incredible is that?!
We are so grateful to all the stores that took part and to all the Tasmanians who donated - you sure are a generous bunch! Such a fantastic achievement, thank you!

As part of NAIDOC Week, we're proud to be celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year's theme of the week is 'Because Of Her, We Can!' which resonates strongly with us as we look to provide access to a specialist breast care nurse for everyone affected by breast cancer across Australia.
We're encouraging all Australians to join the celebration and recognise the incredible contribution Aboriginal and Torres St...rait Islander women have played - and continue to play - in our society.

Have you noticed a bit more pink than usual in the paddocks recently 🤔? We definitely have!
Cotton growers have been wrapping their cotton in pink to support the Foundation and bring more breast care nurses to rural & regional communities.
Tapex AGRI supply the pink wrap and have kindly donated 50c from every every wrap sold - and have SOLD OUT!
... Our Aussie farmers are the back-bone of this country and we're so proud to be a part of this initiative - thank you 🙏!

We've had amazing support from our friends at Fairfax Media to help spread the word about our work in regional communities and the campaign. Read more ab...out this in the article below.

We've moved!
After months of hardwork and the incredible support of some truly astounding businesses, the McGrath Foundation has found its new home at 1/32 Walker Street, North Sydney!
We all know how stressful moving can be, but this one was truly a dream! Thanks in particular to Axiom Workplaces for creating a space that reflects the heart of the Foundation and an environment to share ideas and grow to achieve our mission to provide a McGrath Breast Care Nurses to every ind...ividual & family affected by breast cancer, in Australia.
To celebrate a new beginning of sorts, we did what we do best and turned the place pink!

We’re always wanting to learn in order to develop and improve the support and care we provide individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
Our McGrath Breast Care Nurses were a busy bunch last week attending the annual Cancer Nurses Society of Australia – CNSA Congress, contributing to and learning from some of the world’s leading minds in cancer nursing.
We are always so proud to be part of an event where we can share ideas and learn from our peers and experts to help... make a positive and tangible difference to those experiencing breast cancer.
Also, thank you to the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia - CNSA for your continued collaboration and efforts in putting on a fantastic event.

We were all a tad sore this morning after our session with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles yesterday. Families affected by breast cancer & a couple of our McGrath Breast Care Nurses were invited along to join in on a training session with the boys as well as sit in on a team briefing with head coach Trent Barrett - we've now got all the inside info for the next game against Penrith 😉
There were smiles all around as the kids (and a few adults!) had a game of touch with the firs...t team! It was such an awesome experience and we were so grateful to have been invited along. Days like this are just so great for families experiencing breast cancer to take their mind off things and make some incredible memories!
Thank you so much for having us guys - we can't wait for the 2018 Women in League Round home game on Saturday the 11th August when Lottoland Stadium will officially become the 'McGrath Foundation Stadium' for the game.

It's been 10 years since Jane passed away from breast cancer, aged only 42. Although the 22nd of June is always a sad day as we reflect on the time that has passed without her - today we're celebrating her lasting legacy & impact...
With the amazing support of the Australian community, we are so proud to announce our 120th McGrath Breast Care Nurse!
The new position will be dedicated to supporting people with metastatic breast cancer at Liverpool Hospital. We know Jane would ...be particularly proud of this having realised herself how important it is for people to be supported through all stages of the disease.
Thanks to what Jane started all those years ago and with the overwhelming support of the Australian community we have now supported over 64,000 families through a breast cancer experience.
She would be so proud - thank you Australia!

Sun's out in Sydney - which means it's time for some balcony cricket!
The team were hitting a few sixes out of the park to take some snaps for the upcoming cricket season & the Pink Test. Huge thanks to Canon Australia for providing the camera !🙏

Standards Australia popped by today to kindly donate the bat that Aussie cricket legend, Doug Walters, used to famously score 103 against England during The Ashes of 74/75.
The best news is the bat and a piece of cricket history will be up for auction this coming Pink Test in January 2019! 👀 Watch this space 👀
Thank you Standards Australia for the incredibly generous gift - we will take very good care of it for the next few months!

Part 6 - David's Story:
Almost 2 years after he was first diagnosed with breast cancer, David has now completed his treatment and is in a phase of monitoring and rehabilitation. He still has to attend regular check-ups with various health professionals, but he’s now embracing the moment and making the most of everyday.
“I’ve just been enjoying life to the fullest and appreciating my health. I’ve learned that you never know when that can be taken away from you. I’m just reall...y thankful to be alive, going through cancer you see a lot of unfortunate people going through things a lot worse, it really makes you appreciate the little things. If you can get up in the morning – you’re doing well, so enjoy it!”
Inspired by his own experience with breast cancer, David now wants to make a positive difference to people going through a similar experience.
“I want to help people with cancer, particularly men with cancer. I don’t think there’s enough support our there for men, it just seems us blokes don’t want to get together and talk. Men think that if they share their feelings they’re soft, I think it just shows how strong you truly are if you’re able to do that! From my own experience it was just great to be around other people going through a similar thing to me - you could talk to them and they'd understand, it made such a difference."
David, thank you for your sharing your personal and inspiring story with us all. Always keep the jokes coming!

Part 5 - David's Story:
From when David was first diagnosed, throughout his treatment and even today, he has had the complete support of his family, the Warwick community and his specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
“Mum was there the whole time, I couldn’t have gone through it without her. Going through chemo, it can really wear you down and at times I could be a bit cranky – but she didn’t care, she knew what I was going through having had breast cancer herself in the pas...t. It didn’t matter how bad things got, she was there the whole time – she never gave up on me.”
David had an incredible network of support around him to help him through his experience, his McGrath Breast Care Nurse was always there to educate and empower him to confidently make decisions regarding his treatment.
“They (McGrath Breast Care Nurses) have been really really good. Any time I had a question about the treatment or whatever really - they were always there to help. They took care of things straight away and were just so lovely and so nice. It would have been so hard without them.”
“My current nurse Ashlee has been great. She’s only just started in Warwick, but she is making a huge difference not only to me but the community here too. I like to pop in her from time to time even if it's just for a quick chat!"
