A few weeks ago we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming photographer Elsa Marchenay to the farm. Elsa and her friend Ute fell in love with our fluffy Icelandics and Elsa captured some amazing photos of them! ✨
To see more of Elsa’s (horse) photography pay a visit to her website www.elsamarchenay.com 📷

We will be showing some of our Icelandics at the local Megalong Bush Gymkhana! 🌾 And we might give them a go with the flagrace 🚩

Our lovely mare Birta (from Haldane) has arrived safe and sound in NZ! Her delightful and willing personality will be missed here on the farm.
We’re wishing Birta and her lovely new owner Tracy many happy rides together and are looking forward to see her foal after Magnús from Megalong Icelandics! 💫

We are very happy to announce that we will welcome Maaike Burggrafer again at Megalong Icelandics this year. Maaike will be here to give a two-day clinic on the weekend of 10-11th of November.
Maaike is a well-known trainer and rider in the Netherlands. Maaike is the only Dutch trainer with a certification from the Icelandic Association of Horse Trainers – Félag Tammingamanna (FT). She is also a qualified FEIF Level A Instructor. Maaike finds it important to adapt her teachi...ng/coaching to the individual rider and her horse. She has a very understandable and clear way of teaching which always makes you feel that you have achieved something in a lesson.
It is possible to bring your own horse to the clinic. If you haven’t got your own Icelandic Horse or aren’t able to bring your own horse we are happy to provide you with one of our Icelandic’s.
What is included in the clinic? - Two private lessons or one private lesson and two semi-private lessons (two/three lessons in total); - Coffee/tea; - Use of our Icelandic Horse; - Overnight stay of your own Icelandic Horse.
At this stage the 12 spots for riding participants are already booked. Of course we also offer the option to attend the clinic as a spectator.
We hope to welcome you at our stud (again) in November!

The Icelandic Horse Association of Australia has just published the second issue of the Tölt on Magazine with an interesting article on laminitis by Tracy Taylor, more information about our first online riding test - Gæðingakeppni (you’ve got to love the Icelandic language) Down Under, tips for foal handling and of course news from our members from all over Australia.

Starting the young horses and enjoying some lovely trail rides in between. Happy days in the Megalong! 💫

It's weaning day in the Megalong. 🍂Our foals from last year are all around 6 months old and ready for their next adventure in life. They will be running together with a few older mares to keep an eye on them. Our breeding mares can now have a break and save their energy for the foals of later this year. ✨

Time for our youngsters to get their hooves trimmed. Fenja is keeping a good eye on everything! 🍂

How to better spend Mother's day than riding together with your daughter on an Icelandic horse?! 🙌🏽🌾 Helen and Minna had a lovely ride together on our Ljómi and Kleif!

A few weeks ago we said goodbye to our lovely Kjói, the first horse that has left the farm to his new, very happy owner Ulli. 🍀 Ulli has been visiting and riding Kjói already since January and now she’s enjoying many happy trailrides with him in the Southern Highlands. We wish you both all the best and we’re looking forward to tölt together through the Wingello forest!
