Based in Sydney's Northern Beaches, Mentally Sound Designs is a shirt label created by local resident, Tom Gergich. The images that appear on each piece of clothing act as metaphors for the way the label wishes to portray their message about mental health in Australia. Ultimately, Mentally Sound Designs aims to destigmatise the negative views held towards mental health issues by creating greater awareness of depression, anxiety and other associated illnessesInspired by various accounts of mental illness, Mentally Sound Designs has used various stories of successful journeys towards mental health as focal points for their artwork. With a considerable percentage of their proceeds being donated to various institutions promoting mental health services, Mentally Sound Designs hopes to engage people with wearable artwork and in turn help to create a mentally sound Australia.
