About Migration Institute Of Australia

The MIA works towards a society where migration to Australia is valued and the professionalism of MIA Members is recognised by all stakeholders.

Migration Institute Of Australia Description

The Migration Institute of Australia was established in 1992 and is the peak membership organisation representing Registered Migration Agents.

It is represented in all States and Territories in Australia and has an overseas Chapter based in London. Its membership comprises some of Australia’s most eminent registered migration agents and migration lawyers both in Australia and internationally.

The MIA stands for the highest professional standards in its dealings with its stakeholders such as Federal and State Governments, Ministers, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, skills assessing authorities and its fellow stakeholder, the Law Council of Australia, with whom it regularly liaises with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, and many of whose members are also members of the Institute.

Here is a different perspective on the infamous topic on the “record high numbers of migrants” which potentially harms Australia: https://www.smh.com.au/…/populist-drum- beats-wrong-numbers-… #AustralianMigration #ImmigrationAustralia #AustralianCitizenship #VisaApplications

Workshop 1: 9.30am - 12.45pm, Partner Visas
This workshop will focus on the Partner Visa process using case studies as a basis for examining issues that arise in advising clients. The fundamentals of preparing Partner Visa applications and the criteria for the various relationship categories will be addressed as well as the proposed changes to sponsorship requirements.
... Workshop 2: 1.30pm - 4.45pm, Family Violence Provisions for Partner Visas
Special provisions have been included in the Migration Regulations which allow some visa holders and applicants in the Partner visa application process to become permanent residents without a sponsor. This may be the case where the sponsor has died; or where there is a child of the relationship; or where there has been family violence in the relationship perpetrated by the sponsor against the visa applicant or visa holder (and in some cases other family members). However this process is never straight forward due to the trauma experienced by the client, “genuine relationship” assessment by the Department and in some cases the limited application of these special provisions.

To all MIA members and the public,
The Migration Institute of Australia Limited has been made aware today that the ABC News today issued a release ( ‘We paid you $35,000 and we got nothing’ : Migration business investigated for alleged visa rip-off. By Dan Oakes, ABC Reporter) in relation to a Border Force investigation regarding a migration services company called YABS Services run by Indian-Australian businessman Avniesh Bhardwaj. YABS, also known as YABS Migration & Stude...nt Services, YABS migration to Australia and Yabsmigration.com are not members of The Migration Institute of Australia Limited.
A Facebook site operated under the identity of Yabsmigration.com currently displays the logo of The Australian Migration Institute of Australia Limited which is strictly controlled IP and a logo that may only be displayed by current members of The Migration Institute of Australia Limited (MIA) who are registered migration agents with OMARA.
YABS is not licensed, and never has been licensed, to use the logo of the MIA. We believe the use of our logo on YABS publications (including website & Facebook) is arguably misleading and deceptive and may leave members of the public to believe YABS is a member of the MIA, when it is not.
We have communicated with YABS Facebook today seeking the operator to remove our logo and to cease and desist using our logo in any publications YABS shares in the public domain.
If you wish to seek further information in relation to YABS we refer you to the attached link: http://www.abc.net.au/…/migration-busin ess-investig…/9455358
