Friday is a special day. We get to bake Challah together!
The children watch as we mix the challah dough in front of them. They can see that the yeast becomes frothy before we add it to the other ingredients. Many of our children have been doing this for a long time - it’s so great to see their Challah making skills improve week on week. Oh and we hear many of our mums and dads really enjoying eating their Challah too!

How can you teach your child about emotions?
Simply observing what your child and other people are feeling, and commenting on it in a nonjudgmental, accepting way, teaches children to identify emotions in themselves and others. As you go through your day, look for opportunities to acknowledge your child's feelings:
"You look frustrated.”... “You're jumping up and down! You must be excited!” “I understand. You feel safer when you know exactly what's going to happen. Me, too.” “I hear you! You really don't like spinach and you wish you could never see it again!”

Benefits of outdoor sleeping “Good for the body , good for the soul .”
We are trialling outdoor sleeping at Kindy and today was the first day . . Judging by the looks of excitement on the children’s faces as they shared their adventures with their parents, it was a huge success.... The children were also responsible for carrying their beds downstairs .Team work and problem solving at its finest . Looking forward to tomorrow’s outdoor camping and sleeping.

Of course we want to encourage and motivate our children but here are some suggestions outside of saying “good job”... constructive, supportive, self esteem building, creating self motivation and a desire to keep trying!
