Newspaper serving Molong, Cumnock, Manildra, Yeoval, Cudal, Orange and Cabonne Shire

Molong Express Description

The Molong Express was established on 1 October 1876 by Henry Vale Leathem and was originally a free publication. The Leathems continued ownership of the paper until 1933 when they sold the Express to Walter Pollard Stanger. Stanger issued to Express bi-weekly, but reverted to weekly issue from 10 February 1934. Stanger then bought the Argus (a paid rival paper) and incorporated it into the Express from 7 July 1934. The decade after World War II saw various changes in ownership until the Express was bought on 1 January 1956 by Norman John Bloomfield and his wife Ivy.
Norm Bloomfield and his family published the paper until Norm died suddenly in 2005. His family kept the paper going until it was purchased in April 2006 by Paul Mullins formerly of Canberra. Paul and his partner Rozzi, who edits the paper, continue to successfully publish the paper to this day.
