Moran Prizes Description

In celebration of Australia's bicentennial, Doug and Greta Moran and family established the Moran Arts Foundation, aiming to foster portraiture skills in painting. Since 2007, the Foundation has also been a strong supporter of excellence in photography.

The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize has encouraged both excellence and creativity in contemporary Australian portraiture. Currently with an annual first prize of $150, 000, the prize is an important part of Australia's arts calendar and Australia's richest art prize.

The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize is a national competition that awards and promotes Australian contemporary photography by inviting photographic entries that interpret living in Australia.

The Moran Arts Foundation provides free photographic workshops to schools around Australia. The Moran School Photographic Workshop Program fosters creativity amongst school students in years 3 to 12.

In a world focused on celebrity, The Moran Prizes are about the greatness in every Australian.

Juniper Hall is the permanent home of The Moran Arts Foundation Collection and the venue for the annual exhibition of the Moran Prizes.
The historic Georgian building is now an important exhibition space.

The Moran Arts Foundation is a registered charity.
