Morvern Valley Farm Cottages

Wonderful farmstay experience, especially for my 5yo niece who enjoyed collecting kindling sticks and patting the Shetland ponies. What a beautiful cottage too, would definitely come here again for a longer stay. Thanks Julie for the lovely breakfast basket, the hens surely laid more eggs than we could finish and what friendly hens they are!

If you need a farm visit there is a farm in Bundanoon with farm animals. My family and I visited and were impressed on first sight. Loads of different animals, all were calm, happy and friendly coming up for a handful of grass and a carrot. This was great as my son has always been a bit worried around larger animals and it was becoming an issue. It was only a short time at the farm before he was wanting to spend the whole afternoon in the paddock and was approaching the animals himself.

My family of 6 also needed to arrive by public transportation at the farmstay Morvern Valley via the train, and this was easy, the train station is 5 minutes walk away as are the shops for our green groceries. The breakfast provided was generous and the house we were allocated to had privacy and quietness. Cleaned to good standard and the use of firewood and bikes was free.

We have stayed at 2 of the 3 cottages over the past 3 years for the Bundanoon Tango Festival. Im not sure what is now the real reason we are going to Bundanoon- yes I know its to stay at Morvern Valley - what a delight!!!. Great accommodation, walking distance to the village and the chooks are superb.

Arriving after work on Friday for our farm stay adventure it was great to see the house lit and 1940's music on setting our stage. Jason the owner the next morning came with little Shetland Fudge to the delight of our two girls 7 and 9. House is full of all the things you could possibly need and many things to keep you busy if it was poor weather. The fire and even collecting the kindling for it will be remembered by our family for many a day.

I wasn't particularly looking for a farm stay close to Sydney but I came across Morvern Valley on facebook while looking for pet friendly accommodation in the Southern Highlands/Bundanoon. The facilities are very good it has great facilities for families looking for a more traditional escape with a difference. The owners were friendly and polite and the self contained cottages were clean (which is more than I can say for some of the other places we stayed! ). The fact we were able to bring our Dog to the farm at no extra cost was great. While we couldn't take him into the national park, the owners said we could leave him under the old homestead where he was dry and kept busy watching the animals. The kids had a great and the next time we return to the Southern Highlands we will definitely be staying at the Movern Valley cottages in Bundanoon again
