About Mosquito Creek Angus

Mosquito Creek Angus Stud. Founded 2002

Mosquito Creek Angus Description

Mosquito Creek Angus Stud was founded in 2002 by Principal Sam Barwick.
Stud cows were purchased from the Booragul, Farrer, Bronmar and Clark herds initially.
Further additions included embryos from Booramooka and a Sydney Royal Show sale topping cow from the Outwest Stud in 2006.
Originally the goal of our breeding program was to breed top quality performance recorded bulls for use within our commercial operation. As our numbers slowly increased we found a market for our older bulls and the positive feedback we received encouraged us to continue sourcing the best genetics from around the world for use in our Artificial breeding program. Users of our older bulls highlighted longevity and toughness as some of the key strengths of our bulls.
Bulls are paddock reared and the most significant difference of our bulls compared to most purchased from other studs is that all of our registered bulls are used as yearlings in our commercial herd. This is what we believe makes Mosquito Creek Angus bulls better for the purchaser. Bulls are work tough, know what they are doing from day one and are not carrying around an extra 200kg which makes them far more agile and better for the cows. Genetically they have they goods and from a commercial point of view they can be sold for less as they have already produced in some cases up to 40 calves by the time they are 2.
Mosquito Creek Angus is still very much in a growth phase however we are now offering approximately 40 rising 2 year old bulls which we believe to be some of the best value bulls on the market.
