About Mount Druitt Hospital

Mount Druitt Hospital is a 200-bed hospital in Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt, New South Wales, Australia. It was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in October 1982, and was designed by Lawrence Nield in 1980. The hospital consists of 120 beds for general medical and surgical use, 62 beds for paediatrics, five intensive care beds (these were removed in 2005), and 13 day-only observation beds. The three commissioned operating theatres have eight beds for recovery. ServicesAside from the wards of medical, surgical and pediatric patients, there are three commissioned operating theatres, an Accident and Emergency unit, and Medical Imaging facilities. Mount Druitt Hospital's Palliative Care Unit was Australia's leading palliative care service in 2014. It is also considered the area's leading pediatric care facility with emergency and inpatient services for children. ExpansionIn 2006, the state member Richard Amery announced extensions totalling 10 beds spread throughout various units within the hospital. This included aged care rehabilitation and emergency care. A$2. 1 million were allocated to the works however it was clearly identified that the extra facilities would not be opened until the required extra staff had been recruited. In 2012, the NSW Government announced the Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital Expansion Project Stage 1. At Mount Druitt Hospital, projects included an expanded Dental Unit with 8 additional dental chairs, a new Urgent Care Centre, main entry refurbishment, new ambulance bay, sterilising facility upgrade and expanded rehabilitation facilities. The Stage 1 Expansion projects were completed in 2014.

WORST HOSPITAL I COULD EVER TAKE MY CHILD TO.

My daughter was admitted for a swelling face, seemed breathing issue, high temps, (dehydration but unknown at the time).

We were taken in the children's emergency ward where they told me I needed to catch a wee sample for my daughter, I've been in hospital with my daughter and son before, I KNOW how to catch a wee sample. Doctor kept getting angry with me telling me I'm not allowed to hold her, I have to sit on the chair lay her on the bed and wait. However how I was holding her I had the cup between her legs for hours waiting for this wee. I would have caught it. My daughter was restless and wanted cuddles. They wanted to do bloods to see of everythings okay. They put the needle in my daughters hand and squirm it around inside her like they don't know how to find a vein! It took so long of them moving a needle inside my baby's hand to find a vein.. We then left the needle in in case she needed antibiotics. Few hours passed still no wee, I cuddle her again. Massage her belly prompting her to wee and once again I'm in trouble for cuddling my daughter with a cup between her legs waiting to catch her wee!! They send in a nurse and the nurse tells me they're putting a catheter in.. A catheter?? For a damn 1 YEAR OLD!! I told them she has not had anything to drink!! How is she going to wee when there is NOTHING to wee.. I demanded for fluids to be put through her drip as its the only way right now to get her to wee. Wanna know what the doctors said? Well we want answers fast and now. So what? Put my little one year old baby through hell and pain so you can get answers quicker? Hell no.
They put the drip on her and again, I was in trouble for holding her trying to catch her wee, so I layed her down and sat on the chair and she was restless, wanted mummies cuddles and I had to keep laying her down to catch this wee. I wasnt allowed to have the curtains closed now because I kept cuddling her and I was not allowed to. I lost it they wanted me to have my daughters privates on show for the world because they wanted to see us trying to catch it from across the room. I had to put a blanket over her to cover her privates and still try to keep laying a fidgety child that wants cuddles down to catch this wee. What happened? I missed it. Because she wouldn't keep still and wanted mummy. What happened when I missed it? All the nurses and doctors got angry, so I got angry. I said I would have caught it if I had her calm with the cup between her legs like I was for hours?? They then make me put a bag on her to catch her wee.. Are you deadset serious??? Couldn't do this before.. They all shook their heads at me as if its my fault and got angry.

They don't care your child's in pain, they don't care what they put your child through along as they get answers fast and now.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

What was it in the end? She has a chesty cough, was a little dehydrated and her nose was stuffy..

All that for a flu..

I'm always safer than sorry, I've never had a bad experience in a hospital. Will never be returning here with my children AGAIN.

Mt druitt hospital?? I think it's a practicing centre while all doctors just use my 10 months old baby as a doll or something. Three doctors tried a hundred time to put the niddles in&out my baby's two hands and arm. But still no blood sample to do a test. How funny. they finally got two tube, after their niddles wiggling in my baby's hands and arm. 30mins later they turn around tell me blood sample can't be used, my baby have to do another one. Nurses say, you baby took panaldal. Excuse me? Who give us panaldal, what happens to your records? Putting others record on my baby?? I of course refuse to do another test, the strange doctor that I never seen said ok go, just go. At the time I wanted to leave, a doctor said ok, your sample was enough to use which means no need to do another one!!! Haha. I assume none of them have baby or treat my baby as a human. I stayed there over night for the resault the next day I got told by another doctor that the test was cancelled. Excuse me?? this is the worst hospital in Sydney. If you any of you want your baby experience this, go to them.
I wish I could give Zero star it just won't allow me to do it.
