Large smooth area - you'd only find it full if there's a huge scout group there or similar.
Bring all food and water - don't expect much from the village.
Good walks around with access to lots of decent canyons.
Great road in. Ample space for cars or bikes.
Simple toilets.

Beautiful rainforrest, Just off the main road. Make sure to visit the Cathedral of Ferns

Great camping grounds with plenty of fire pits. Just remember to bring water

Camped here for a weekend in winter. Plenty of sites so you can arrive on a Friday night and set up without worrying if the place is full. Good walks nearby, we followed a track down to the canyon - Wollangambe 2's entry - it had great views and the final rock scramble was quite fun, about 3hrs return. We also got snow on our first night!
