CHANGES TO THE ACT TAKE EFFECT APRIL 2016

New provisions that require a property with a swimming pool to have a certificate of compliance before it can be sold or leased take effect on 29 April 2016. This means that pool owners need to act now to ensure swimming pool barrier compliance prior to the sale or lease of their property.

Once the provisions are in place, Councils will be required to issue fines to owners if their pool fences and barriers are non-compliant.
