Ray McHale – one of the founders of MyNextAdvice – developed the idea for MyNextAdvice based on his own experience. A year earlier he needed financial advice which was sensitive in nature, so he didn’t want to involve family or friends. That left the internet, which ended up being a frustrating process. It took quite some time for him to find advisers who specialised in the advice area Ray needed, and he had no transparency as to their skill levels. Ray was thankful he had financial qualifications as there was quite a bit of financial jargon on these sites to sift through. There had to be a better way. So, he set up MyNextAdvice. Ray has a lovely, supportive wife, three kids and seven grandkids, and it’s important to him that his family is comfortable financially with access to advice when they need it (and not necessarily from him! ).

Ray was introduced to Simone in early 2017, with a view to join the business. Coincidentally Simone had been discussing consulting an adviser with her husband a few weeks earlier. He wasn’t keen as he thought an adviser would just try to push products onto them, and he’s already had some useful ad hoc conversations with neighbours and friends. At the time Simone didn’t know what an adviser would charge, how she would verbalise her actual concern, or what the process was. So, she left it alone. It’s funny how Simone now works at a business that perfectly simplifies this process. Simone, her husband, and two young children enjoy a life on the coast, and it’s her priority to make sure they’re living for now AND planning for the future.
