About National Radio News

National Radio News was established in 1997. It is the leading radio news provider for community radio stations across Australia.

National Radio News Description

National Radio News is a joint project between Charles Sturt University Bathurst.

In partnership with the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, we broadcast to over 90 community radio stations in every state and territory in Australia, including every capital city.

We also broadcast to various IGA supermarkets.

NRN has three senior journalists - Erin Archer, Kristina Rosengren and Peter Freestone, as well as News Director Rod Bloomfield, and Manager Ross Larsen.

Every year we hire a group of second year journalism students as cadets, who are trained up to produce and present bulletins, as well as conduct phone interviews to write up in to stories, and write and record sports bulletins and voice reports.

Nearly all NRN cadets have secured full time jobs in the journalism fields after finishing their cadetships, with a number now working as high profile journalists.
