Ndis Solutions Description
Datix was conceptualised and founded in 2013 by Amir Hosseini. Amir had arrived the year before after emigrating from Iran with his family. When he first arrived in Australia, he joined Cerebral Palsy Alliance as he carried an internal passion for working within the disability sector. In Iran he had observed that there was little to no infrastructure to support this community and the extended family was the central unit of support.
He noticed that even within large NFP's here in Australia, simple collaboration tools were lacking which could make a huge difference to the happiness, growth and sustainability of the organisation. The ability for the organisation to act in concert and leverage their combined strength was not being fully utilised. Through many cross functional meetings and initiatives across and beyond the organisation, Amir participated in identifying and addressing these gaps. Most noticeably, he played a contributing role in the Hunter Study, a precursor to the NDIS.
His rich insights across 4 years of supporting CPA led Amir to recognise the need across the disability sector for sharing best practice to lift the capabilities of all the service provider community. Many of the tools on the market actually made life more difficult or were re-badged systems from other sectors which didn't serve the uniqueness of this sector. When he canvassed the disability sector, there was a large malaise across service providers with the inadequacy of the systems to bring real value and ease of use at great cost.
With personal funding and long hours of commitment working with his development team, Amir set to work to develop a system that would address these aspirations. 26 months of effort and dedication led to their release to the market in May 2017.
