Nelson Bay Breeze Resort

We stayed here with family in September, the only thing we liked about this place is being closer to center and beach but it is an old building and really needs a good renovation plus cleanliness is behind worse. The mattresses, couch, pillows are discgusting with stains and german cockroach all over the place. NOT HAPPY!

Nice looking and close to club and beaches, unfortunately thats all it has going for it. We have stayed all over the world and this has to be the most poorly furnished, it felt like 2nd hand stuff.
The beds squeak and are like sleeping on wooden planks. The bathroom was supplied with half used bottles of shampoo and conditioner but no hand soap plus the exhaust fan dropped dust each time it was switched on, it came on with the light.
There was a decent supply of coffee, tea and sugar but no milk for that all important welcoming cuppa.
The chairs were too low for the table, as they were not a matching suite, which meant that we were eating at chest height making cutting food uncomfortable. The couch was peeling vinyl and badly cracked on the back rest and seats.
The outdoor table hadnt been cleaned and had several mug rings as well as what looked like tape marks.
There was no clothes horse/rack for drying clothes, the dryer provided only served to heat the room which in turn required turning the loud air conditioner on to cool it again...not optimal in summer or for an asthma sufferer... and after asking twice and being told one would be dropped off, we never got one during our 2 weeks. The air con. in the main bedroom didnt work and the fan in the 2nd room only had a fast or slow setting that worked.
We realise that mowing, cleaning etc is necessary but really felt that as it was a Resort we should have had the luxury of Not being woken at 7am to the sound of the whipper snipper/hedge trimmer.
Only minor complaints really but when coupled with a few cockroaches in the cupboards, a couch that made our backs ache and a possible $1800 bill if we accidentally set off the smoke alarm, it All made for a disappointing stay. For the price we paid we expected better facilities and the in-house restaurant was permanently closed as well.
We certainly wont be recommending this hotel! 2 stars is generous.

NOT very clean at all, had to wash most of the Glasses that we got out to use. Had to clean bathroom shelves of dust and hairs. NO ceiling lighting bedroom Don't think they had cleaned the floor rug, still had crumbs all over it. Dead cockroach under T.V. cabinet in clear view. Broken light fitting. Tiled floor very sticky, In front of lounge. Over all quality of accommodation very poor indeed , needs a lot of T. L. C. Will not be going back.

Delightful location, apartments were clean and comfortable. Very convenient to the Marina and shops.

Decent location. Spacious, with enough cutlery in the kitchen. But pretty old and needs a makeover.

This accommodation was just barely clean - the tiled floors were really dirty. Everything was on the cheap side - stained carpets, really hard uncomfortable beds, the blinds in the bedrooms nether opened or closed properly so they had to stay half closed all the time. I found the worst thing was having to be very careful getting into the spa bath to have one of the worst water saving showers ever - the water pressure was awful. Definately not a place for an older person. The list of threats around the place made you feel like big brother was watching everything you used - fines for just about everything the housekeeper should be doing after you leave (within reason of course). There are an awful lot of alternative places around the area which I will be using in future.

Definitely not the cleanest place i have stayed at. No AC upstairs and gets seriously hot. Wifi has issues. Its cheap....but you get what you pay for.

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment. Room was clean and tidy, very close to the local club, main street and the bay. Staff could have been less defensive when advised of issues with the room. But it was resolved quickly and the location was really nice.

We had an excellent loft 2 bedroom apartment which was everything that you need. Managers were very approachable and helpful with everything. We would highly recommend. Neilson Bay is a beautiful spot.
