The company was incorporated on 16 March 2010 as an investment corporation in the broadest sense. The friendship of the ultimate owners goes back to 1988 when they commenced their study in Economics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The name of the company is a result of a friendship that started in Rotterdam, a first joint investment in NYC, and therecognition of the historical relations of the Dutch with "New Amsterdam".
