Booked a taxi to the airport about an hour before needing to be picked up. Waited outside my home at the scheduled time for 15 minutes before calling to inquire as to the taxi's whereabouts. Was told they'd been having issues sending cars due to their system. There was no phone call to inform. There was no estimate as to when a taxi would be available. Suggestion was to find an alternative way to get there.

Thank you for selling me on Uber with your truly appalling customer service.

For professional drivers some leave a lot to be desired, the one I encountered today was an absolute pig. My family use Uber whenever we can, in our experience professional, polite drivers in clean vehicles and mostly much cheaper.

Do not use 13CABS for any reliable bookings — I live in metropolitan areas and due to conditions I had to take a cab in an area called Rutherford in the Hunter Valley which is less populated than my usual working areas.

I've had this problem before where the booking company is in Melbourne and there's actually no cabs linked to 13CABS at the time in that area which stranded me for university and my job.

Either use UBER or Google your area followed by taxi and use their LOCAL dispatch company unlike 13CABS...

They are only semi-useful if you either live in a big city and need a quick ride or if they're at a rink — worst company to call and setup a booking, plus there is no accountability with their company.

I rarely write reviews but I'm an annoyed medical student who can't grasp why people can't even do their jobs correctly.

You know a cab company is in trouble when all the cabs in the area have their own business cards with mobile numbers because 13CABS cannot operate a synergistic service for their customers.

SHAME ON THIS SERVICE!
My daughter had a $50 coupon (through her insurance company) The driver told her that she'd have to pay if it goes over the $50. She then asked how much he thought it could go over. His answer was how much money have you got, she felt all weird so she said she don't know. He then told her she has to give him $13 to get home! What the hell is that? I myself had to do the same thing just last year and my lady driver was wonderful. But she was from Maitland/Raymond Terrace Taxi service. Defiantly different to this seedy old man..
The fare ended up coming to $52.50 so she gave him her card and he charged it at $10.50. She called to ask if this is right and this business just gave her $20 voucher and that was that....
Defiantly won't be using this service again.....

If i could put -10 i would, This is by far the WORST customer service I ever received. Booked 2 taxis at 9pm one for 1 am ( who arrived 30 min late ) and one for 7.15am the next morning.
First of all at the time of the booking I haven't been told that my destination was out of their serviced area and that on top of the normal fare i will have to pay for the return up to the sign as they do not deserved my area resulting to a $50 bill for 8 min drive !!
Secondly and this is the " best " when at 7.15 am the taxi that I booked the night before didn't arrived I decided to give them a call to check when the taxi will arrived as I had to pick up my car to go to work and I didn't want to be late, a rude lady told me that they don't have any taxi for me as they do not pick up from this area.
Absolutly unbelievable, luckily i managed to find my way to my car by calling an other taxi company with a great customer service.
To resume, the people who are answering your calls are extremely rude, every one of them I had were, informations that they give you is not accurate, and when you book a taxi you do not receive confirmation that you have booked it and it is all good.
Lesson learnt I will never ever get a Cab with them.

Update on my 85 yo mothers experience.
I contacted the Newcastle taxi base and told them what happened and they were really lovely, spent time tracking the booking, spoke to the driver concerned, got back to me, apologised. Very good and considerate response , thank you.

We came up to Newcastle for the weekend and the taxi drivers racist comments ruined our entire weekend. Completely unprovoked, unnecessary and appalling. Your staff need to be trained to keep their nonsense opinions to themselves. First and last time we go to Newcastle.

The operator was fabulous...used the service on Australia Day 8pm...she was very mindful of me being a female travelling alone and prioritised the service...very good customer service !
