Dr Sylvana Lee is the best doctor, caring, detailed and gets the right diagnosis. My whole family only books appointments with Dr Lee. We will follow Dr Lee wherever she works. Also 5 stars to Tatyana the best pathologist at the medical centre, always finds the vein.

These reviews are hilarious but I should clear some stuff up/update. This practice cured me of the illusion that Newtown is totally gentrified. BUT, They do bulk bill. Doctors are caring, really. Receptionists are polite and trying their best in an obviously chaotic system. Mental health specialist is lovely. Sara is strange, as other reviews have said, but she is caring. Renovations look promising, should be finished mid 2018.The male doctor seems particularly good. Indigenous friendly, and geared towards linguistic diversity, that’s good. Waiting times are an issue, I’ve never had an appointment on time, but it is bulk billing so that’s cool. Give it a shot before you try something further away.

I am surprised reviews are so poor. Maybe reception staff have changed recently or something. I was welcomed with big smile and friendly attitude. I struggled filling up form I didn't bring my glasses, girl did sit with me on the side and filled up everything. mix billing, I do understand that from time to time there might be a payment but as well again reception was very helpful with that. medicare rebate was refunded to me on the spot. what is the problem ppl? We are talking about 19$ for the consultation. we live in XXI century, obviously some practices are not bulk billing. I prefer to pay and have a good service.

Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. I was greeted with 'hello, name, go sit down there'. It was only once I settled into a chair that I was approached again: ' need your emergency contact details and where is your Medicare card'. No apology for the abruptness nor for the attitude. I wasn't aware that it was my responsibility to double ensure that my Medicare card or any other details had been checked, whilst I was standing at the reception. I decided to cancel my appointment. I was farewelled with rolling eyes.
Never again.

The doctor I saw was really incompetent...she did a wrong diagnosis...also there is no bulk billing, really shocking! If it wasn't because my regular GP was not available and I needed to see someone urgently, I wouldn't have gone to this place...terrible! Will not go again or recommend someone to go.

Very impressed with Dr Paul Ameisen, enough that I felt he deserved recognition. I expected to be sat waiting even with an appointment booked however I was seen after 10-15 minutes. He was very friendly and extremely helpful, thorough, and i left with everything I needed. And I genuinely felt like he cared!

Dr Lee and Dr Molesworth are both awesome.
They're absolutely the only dr's there I'd see.
Both have always been extremely good in my experience.
Thank God Dr Haber retired!

if you are afflicted with a benign condition or need to have a simple script written, then you will find the doctors here adequate. however, if you have complicated therapeutic needs, or have anything riding on the outcome of your consultation e.g. life-threatening ailments, the best advice i can offer: STEER CLEAR of this practice.

After me and my family going there countless times, just now Dr Christine Guirgis just told me that there will be a gap payment for a simple script... I told her this has never happened before and her reply was because of "changes" to Medicare this has happened. She then told me that this had been going on since early 2000's???
I asked why the last time i didn't have to pay and she said because I was centerline health care, which I have never been on.

I would not trust this practice nor their doctors with my worst enemies life, especially doctor Christine. Be very careful using this dodgy practice, it's your health.

Ext...
After calling the front office ladies and asking why this happened, I was given a third reason. "It's up to the doctor if they want to charge you or not."

I went into this so called 'medical practice', and it was fair dinkum amateur hour. hour and half wait, reception staff chewing gum and going for 'walkies'. Went in and saw Dr Sara Guirgis, she was doing her usual eating nuts, mumbling away to herself - she couldn't even pronounce my name properly.

After she finished taking my blood pressure, she mumbled 'you're fine now get out'. As I got up to leave I made a comment about the appalling sevice I recieved. The good doctor simply looked at me and screamed 'close the door you stupid boy!'.

Seriously 1 star is generous for this joint.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DR SYLVANA LEE who is an excellent doctor and a most pleasant person, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYBODY. I found it dreadfully rude after arriving on time for my third appointment with another dr and having been assured that shewould see me if waited an extra 30 minutes (which I did) to then be told (after 40 minutes) that the dr was running too late and would I come back another day. VERY RUDE TREATMENT. Despite having left instructions not to, their nurse/receptionist kept ringing me on my mobile at work, would then say she couldn't hear me and then had the nerve when I spoke to her about it in the practice to say she had never done so. ????

To start off, every time I've been there the people at the reception desk have been very rude. I try to brush this off and respond with politeness only to receive more rudeness..
Secondly, the last 2 times I went there I had booked an appointment online. The first time I was told that the appointment was booked for a doctor who had finished work already and it shouldn't have been an option. Unfortunately it was and I had chosen it. I didn't get to see a doctor and I was really unwell. The second time I believe the same thing happened and the girl at the desk didn't tell me. She looked it up, her expression suggested confusion and she asked my full name (it was clear she couldn't find it). She typed something and said to wait upstairs. I waited over an hour and people who turned up after me were being seen before me.
Absolutely the worst practice I've ever visited.
