About Nimmo Integrated Mariculture - Nim

Innovative and sustainable integration of snapper and seaweed in landbased hatchery.

Nimmo Integrated Mariculture - Nim Description

NIM is collating a Development Proposal to the Eurobodalla Shire Council for a marine aquaculture farm on agricultural land next to the Moruya River. The land-based farm will integrate plate sized snapper and seaweed in an innovative and sustainable way.
Plate sized snapper is below the legal catch and can only be supplied by farming. Seaweed purifies the fish tank water and is also harvested to eat.
Plate sized snapper is a high quality niche product for quality restaurants and home chefs. The niche is effectively empty, as the only supply is via a small amount of bycatch from New Zealand, so represents a good market opportunity.
NIM is preparing a release through the crowdfunding organisation Pozible to fund the $15K needed for the DA.
