Staff not helpful and not friendly. In sauna, people constantly go in and out, so it doesn't have a chance to heat up properly. And it smells chlorine, not sauna.
You have to pay extra for the locker and even for hot water in the shower. The latter is just insane! Come on! In Wollongong, they have hot water in a FREE public pool! And this pool charges even more than most of the other pools!
So they don't have hot water, but you know what they DO have? A button operated door. Which you can open from both sides. Using two different buttons. That absolute necsssity they do have. Seriously, I don't understand how the majority of other pools go without such essential thing.
But probably all the extra posh patrons that seem to be the majority here are just too good for old-fashioned hand operated doors.

The big outdoor pool is a saline pool, which has a different feel than chorine, and won't eat away at your swimsuit/pool gear. The lifesavers are professional and friendly.
I was asked not to use paddles while swimming; I guess they've had people hit by them before, so they play it safe.
To Americans: The swimming here is clockwise, not counter-clockwise, so stay left!

Not many public pools have such a cool view. It's easy to do another length of backstroke when you're looking up at Sydney Harbour bridge in the sun. A large half salt / fresh water pool & small heated upstairs freshwater pool with jacuzzi and sauna. Non-members welcome worth a visit if you're a tourist that loves a swim.

Let me just start off by saying that I really like this pool. My three year old daughter loves the kids pool, and I love the spa and sauna facilities. Oh and don't even get me started on the view, stunning!! However, I do want to make a note of the fact that my daughter and I got really sick from the water last week. I know it was from the pool because that was the only thing that was different during the beginning of that week (no diet changes, etc). I am not sure if this is normal or whether anyone else has gotten sick too, but this does make me hesitant to come back. Besides I want to make other people aware of it as well.

Great outdoor 50m pool but it's showing its age - rather grungy, very basic facilities, pay for hot water.

Such an epic pool to swim in, still has the old late 1930's look, 50 metre pool kept at 25 degrees is salt water mixed with chloride. View of the bridge is absolutely stunning, don't think there is another Olympic size pool anywhere with a view like that. As a tourist a must visit if you like swimming, easy to walk the bridge after and visit the Rocks.

An Australian classic. Right on Sydney Harbour, great view of the Bridge, big saltwater swimming pool. Love they've kept the original (daggy) feel.

Perhaps my inputs a tad dated... lol
But Awwwwwwwwwwwwww :D

The wonderful childhood memories of riding the old 'Red Rattlers' from the Eastern Suburbs' across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on our way this this awesome icon of ours. Great times & around 40 years later I can only
look back & smile at it all. Even remember having been there the day that Shane Gould was seen there.
:D

Classical swimming pool with a great view when you're tired of doing laps.

The pool is saltwater which is good. There is plenty of room in the open areas but best get there reasonably early at weekends. Facilities are very dated but there is a big refurbishment planned which will transform the facility. Probably a total rebuild - $50m perhaps. That'll close things down for quite a while I guess. Food and beverage very ordinary but clearly that will all get fixed in the refurb.

As far as a lane swimming pool goes, it's fantastic. Views are great, parking is free for two hours. It's the surrounding facilities that are a bit dated, hot showers require purchased tokens, it's quite an expensive entry fee when you consider the additional showering costs.

It will also pay to note, it's a salt water pool.

User

The location is absolutely stunning, it's a cheap way to take in the harbour while relaxing in an historic facility! Unfortunately the pool isn't very easy to navigate, friendlier staff and better signage, lighting and maintenance would help.
Also the water is extremely salty and has a high concentration of chlorine as well - really stung my eyes and mouth, would not recommend lap swimming without goggles.
