Today I was privileged to witness an outstanding sportsmanship moment and something that reinforced the spirit of the game and the spirit of NBO.
After 2 round games against each other Newcastle and Northern Beaches Development had played 2 draws - both games 2 goals each.
At full time in their Development grand final the score was 3:3 - 2 x 2 minute golden goal periods still could not separate the teams.
... The captains of both sides (closely followed by their entire teams) approached each other shook hands and called it a draw !
This I believe showed true passion of the game and sportsmanship.
Those of you who were not here to witness it missed a truly moving moment !
This is what NBO is about.

Not sure that NBO is enough sport for your weekend . . . You can check out the other action -
The AFL grand final will be played on the TV in the lounge area at PCYC and can be caught on the screens at Time And Tide Hotel (settle in prior to our Beach Party)
... Technology permitting - we will stream the Saturday U19 match live at PCYC from the end of the AFL and a replay at Time And Tide Hotel during the evening.
NRL Sunday will play at PCYC and the evenings main event can be seen again at Time And Tide Hotel and other venues around the area.
But of course the best action will be court side !

With just a few sleeps to NBO we would like to clear up a question that has been floating around this morning (and a few house keeping items). . . .
The PCYC venue is 1 location 2 courts . . . as normal we have just named court 1 and 2 after beaches in the area - they are not 2 different locations.
Court Side: - Just a friendly reminder that as there is limited seating court side we are asking for no stick/kit bags court side, there will be a designated area off court where y...ou can put these (be ready for a donation to junior Floorball for any bags we remove from the court area)
Parking: - There is plenty of on road parking and a carpark under the building. The Carpark is 3 hours free per day, but please note that this is 3 cumulative hours - $5 for any parking over 5 hours
Photographers: - Don't forget that Snapshot Imagery will be there across the event taking both action and portrait shots - drop them a message if you would like to pre book a time, or catch up with them at the venue
Training Slots: - If you would like a run on the court prior to Saturday we have open court time from 6:00-7:00 for juniors and 7:00 -> for adults at a cost of $10 per player on Friday night
Gear: - Thanks to their continued support both Floorball Culture and Floorballplayer will be at the venue across the weekend with all your gear needs. Please support those that support us to make this event happen !
Food: - We will be having a BBQ breakfast available each day of the tournament and the centre will be open for coffee, drinks and food throughout the day - there are a number of food places a short walk away in the centre of Dee Why also.
We look forward to seeing you all for NBO 12 !
