Northern Beaches Police Area Command Description

Northern Beaches LAC is contained within the North West Metropolitan Region and is situated on the Northern Peninsular of Sydney. It is made up of two local council areas, those being Warringah and Pittwater. The Command is boarded by Manly /Davidson LAC to the south, Kuring-gai LAC to the north west and the waterways of Pittwater and Cowan Creek to the north and north west and the Pacific Ocean to the western boundary to North Shore LAC. The command is 277. 55 square kilometres and consists mainly of residential, industrial /commercial and National Park /bushland. The command is a popular tourist area for both recreation and entertainment. The industrial area also attracts a daily influx of commuters. No train line exists through the command, however public transport is supported extensively by Government buses, along with a ferry commuter service from the central coast and other communities north of Broken Bay.
