Northparkes Mines

About Northparkes Mines

We produce the vital components
of our modern quality of life: the miracle of copper, gold and grains.

Northparkes Mines Description

Since 1993 Northparkes has been celebrated for our high-quality copper deposits, low cost operations and loyal, committed people.

Working at Northparkes is enjoyable: inspirational leadership matters and diversity is celebrated. We are proud to be a miner and a farmer, a good Parkes neighbour and valued contributor to NSW’s Central West.

Zero Harm Operations describes our approach. We are innovative and resilient, we embrace technology and new ways of working. We have decades of excellent mineral deposits and an entire mineral field to continue to explore.

We will discover the copper and gold deposits to take us even further into the future. We are setting up future generations of Northparkes miners for a century of mining together.

Today is R U OK Day, a reminder to check in with the people at work and at home who might be going through a tough time.
This morning we held a BBQ breakfast to check in on each other whilst enjoying a coffee and a bacon and egg roll.
Today we were also lucky enough to host Brian Dowd, Walkabout Barber, who delivered a session on resilience and recovery. You may have recently seen Brian on the Today Show supporting drought awareness by offering ‘fresh cuts’ in his Walkabout... Barber enterprise. Brian shared his story and provided some valuable tools to use to support the people that we see on a daily basis who might be struggling.
Thanks Brian for visiting us at Northparkes and sharing your story with us.

Mining is good for jobs, good for communities and good for NSW. That’s the key message of a new campaign launched by the NSW Minerals Council to highlight the tens of thousands of people in NSW in jobs created by, or related to, the NSW mining industry.
Our very own Manager - Life of Mine and Exploration, Angus Wyllie featured in the campaign. Angus and his wife have been able to comfortably raise their three kids in Parkes thanks to the flexibility provided to them by living in a regional community near Northparkes.

We had a great day at the Parkes Show yesterday. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. Throughout the day we ran two competitions - guess the number of rocks in the jar and guess the number of faba beans in the jar.
We had two winners in the rock guessing competition - Eric Teague and Jenni Field. There were 198 rocks in the jar and both Eric and Jenni were the closest guessing 197.
Mitchell Unger was the lucky winner of the faba beans guessing competition. There ...was 1095 faba beans in the jar and Mitchell was the closest guessing 1052.
Congratulations to our three winners! Eric, Jenni and Mitchell will all receive a $50 voucher.
As part of the faba beans guessing competition, we asked for a gold coin donation to enter. A total of $71 was raised yesterday. We will be adding to the money raised and donating the money to the Salvation Army who are raising much needed funds for drought affected farmers. Stayed tuned for the final total. A big thank you to everyone who donated!

Last Thursday and Friday Agribusiness Today hosted a Mixed Farming Technology Forum and a Field Day. The event provided our local farmers with the opportunity to hear from industry innovators about technological developments in the cropping and livestock industries.
The Mixed Farming Technology Forum included expert speakers who spoke about today’s innovations in technology in the livestock and cropping industries as well as the latest marketing intelligence.
The Field Day on... Friday 3 August provided a hands-on half-day event discussing and demonstrating some of the technology in the field. This was held on our Beechmore Property. Our very own Farm Specialist, Matt Burkitt presented during the Field Day. He gave an overview of our extensive farming operations and the current agricultural technology we are using to assist with our farming related activities.
