Resources and Energy is part of NSW Trade & Investment. It delivers policy, programs and compliance for the New South Wales Government across the minerals and energy sector and includes;

Mineral Resources - facilitates profitable and sustainable mineral resources development, effective environmental management and safe and responsible mining and petroleum production.

Energy - promotes safe, secure and affordable energy supplies and competitive energy markets for the benefit of all NSW consumers.

National Policy and Sustainability - leads NSW’s response to national reforms under the Standing Council on Energy and Resources and initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including biofuels and carbon capture and storage technology.

Mine Safety Performance - provides the framework and direction to industry to manage risks through consultation and safe systems. Mine Safety works closely with employers, employees, other government agencies and the community to promote best practice in the area of mine safety.

Industry Investment - focuses on attracting investment in NSW in the energy and resources sector by working closely with industry stakeholders both internationally and locally.
