Safety means different things to different people. It is not just about the level of crime in our community, it is about developing and implementing programs that can also prevent unintentional injury. It is about how people feel in our community and there are many factors that affect this.
To improve community safety all sections of the community need to work together to create a safer environment in which to work, live and play.
Council’s across NSW are proud to be involved in partnerships between government and non-government agencies, community organisations and individuals that are developing community safety programs using innovative approaches.
This web-site helps to promote some of these ideas, as well as to identify and put into place strategies that will improve communication and partnerships with regard to community safety and crime prevention. .
The Local Government Community Safety and Crime Prevention Network is made up of stakeholders that have an interest in improving community safety and reducing crime. The key contact people are the Chairperson, Secretary and the Executive Committee.
