The nurses and midwives of Blacktown have had enough! With over 1200 nursing hour shortages in the past year, a ridiculous rate of burnout among staff, they’ve taken to the street to show their disgust at this Government’s inaction.
If you’re as disgusted as they are, sign up to our campaign today: www.ratioslifeordeath.org.au

With CEO pay deals at the highest they've ever been, imagine if the nurses on the front line got the same treatment!
It's clear the current system isn't working for nurses and midwives. It's time we Changed the Rules for a fairer society.

Only at a nurse's send-off would you see a cake like this!
Have a great retirement Bill, and well done LBH Nurses and Midwives: Member of the NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association on a clearly hilarious cake.

1250 nursing hours MISSING. That’s what the community in Blacktown have been faced with over 2018.
It’s why the nurses and midwives of Blacktown Hospital will be raising awareness today, because their community deserves better than what the NSW Government is providing.

Aged Care residents are being put at the mercy of greedy private operators, yet the Federal Government refuses to ensure that our taxpayer-funded subsidies go directly to resident care. We need a Government that will end resident suffering, and mandate for Aged Care ratios NOW.

We will never stop advocating for safe patient care. Nurses and midwives deserve a better, more transparent ratios system that puts patient safety first.

While the Federal Government is sitting on its hands, massive Aged Care Corporations are making record profits from our elderly without providing the care they deserve. And guess who gets the raw end of the bargain: nurses and the residents they look after.
We need the Federal Government to mandate minimum staffing ratios in Aged Care, to ensure that residents get the care they deserve. Back our campaign today: www.morestaffforagedcare.com.au

Congratulations Michele O'Neil on your election as ACTU President! We’re looking forward to Changing the Rules in favour of all Australians with you.

Well, no-one ever said nursing was going to be easy 😂😅😭

What's a nurse or midwife's day like? Describe it in one emoji - if you can! 🤣😭👿👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

“Elderly nursing home residents continue to suffer, even though the top six for-profit providers are reaping in over $2 billion in taxpayer funded subsidies."
Along with our colleagues in the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, we will be arguing at today's Senate Inquiry to ensure that Government subsidies go directly to resident care, not company profits.

Without mandated Ratios, the situation in Aged Care can - and will - continue to get worse.
It’s time the Federal Government showed nurses some respect ✊. Back our calls for Aged Care Ratios now: www.morestaffforagedcare.com.au

It's unacceptable to nurses and midwives for care to be delayed because of insufficient staff, but apparently it's completely fine according to the NSW Government.

Our Aged Care workers deserve to be able to provide quality care to their residents, but current laws don't let them do so. It's ripe time for the Federal Government to make Aged Care ratios law.

Applications for the Edith Cavell Trust Scholarship close at the end of this month. Make sure you get your application in today!

Nurses and patients should never have been put in this kind of risk. It’s clear that our call for Ratios is a matter of life or death.

Going on night shift tonight? Here's some tips for getting to sleep tomorrow morning (provided your neighbour isn't mowing the lawn!)

Big business has been hell-bent on making it harder for nurses and midwives. It's what nurse Jacqueline McDowall has found out the hard way.

This Aged Care crisis doesn't just affect residents - it also affects their loved ones. It's time for real action from our Government to make Ratios in Aged Care law NOW!
