worst service ever. my daughter is three months old and still has no birth certificate. apparently it is ok to keep sending mail to non existing addresses. 1 email, 2 letters, 5 phone calls later and they tell you they will respond within 15 working days to see if they finally manage to correct the address in their system and see if they need any more information. no apology, no attempt to make the case urgent...

if you provide all the correct documents to apply for an online births certificate it will happen very smoothly, came within 5 days of priority service fee.

I did my daughter's birth certificate. Within 5 minutes I got from the service girl. It is so efficient and love their work!

Would give none if I could. Applied online for 3 certificates, with the CORRECT ID to be told I have submitted a bank statement not a utility bill, which in actual fact I submitted a Energy Australia bill!
What kind of half wits here cant distinguish the difference. Not acceptable. To call up and be told I have to email new documentation and could take another week to 10 days for it to be looked at as it goes to an ID email address which may not get seen for this length of time and be told when asked that I cant go into the RMS and submit it because the proces was started on line it all has to be continued in thst format! Someone needs to answer me on seeing this when they get the notification of this post and get me my papers. You wrre instant on takinig all money straight from my card!

Quite possibly the most inept, useless and despicable cesspit of public servants this country has to offer. Couldn't do their job in an efficient manner if their life depended on it.

The most amazing government experience yet!
I was expecting 4 days for a priority original certificate and they gave it to me same day.. no.. 30 seconds later!!! No kidding. Effiecient and friendly staff, how very ungovernmental!!!

They don't know abt customer service ,only they know the writen script which wait 28 days no even checking customer profile..

I required a quick turnaround for a Birth Certificate application for our newborn and I expected to be waiting in the office all morning. I was in and out in less than 7 minutes, printed Birth Certificate in hand. Very efficient and helpful.

I applied ONLINE for a birth cert for my daughter. We living overseas now. I attached my 3x proofs of ID and they charged my credit card. After 2 days I just received an email that my application was cancelled. Without any further explanation why? Online status is also invalid. I need the cert to apply for her passport. But they do not reply to emails as well. Very disapointed!

I am very disappointed with the service.
I paid a lot of money to get my certificates. applied for 2, priority due to applying for a passport.
So far it has taken 7 working days and still not recieved.
For people living in the country it is a rip off.
I am really disgusted and thought the service would be a lot better then this.

The service was great , he was really helpful going over my paperwork so I had it right... Checking everything to make sure the birth certificate was right and it was me...It was worth paying $70 to get it on the spot.....
What was poor was the rude customers pushing in when there were people waiting there before the doors open.

Now it all makes sense, reading some of the comments here. 1 star is a huge compliment to these people... urgent birth certificate for overseas travel, multiple calls over a number of weeks!, being told it is put on a priority list, losing the info in their 'systems', requesting proof of travel, losing that again... 5+ layers of 'management' each time I call... absolutely the most ridiculous people I have ever had to deal with. I want some of my tax money back. If this is where some of it goes to, it makes me really angry. You don't expect the greatest competence from a government department in general, and sometimes you are positively surprised, but this particular department is the bottom of the barrel. The absolute bottom. Zero competence.
