The NSW SES Wollongong City Unit and NSW SES Dapto Unit are the two Volunteer Emergency Response Units covering Northern Illawarra, assisting the community during floods, storms and tsunamis.

Nsw Ses Wollongong City Unit Description

Who We Are:

Founded in 1967, the Wollongong City SES is made up of two independent units. The Wollongong City Unit is located in Fairy Meadow with a newly established sub-unit located south, in Coniston. Overall, the two units have over 100 members and together, are responsible for assisting the community as far north as Waterfall, through to Lake Illawarra in the South and the Illawarra escarpment to the west.

While our primary role is to assist the community during floods and storms, we are also involved in the support of other emergency services during times of need.

• Vertical Rescues
• Land Searched
• Tsunamis and Earthquakes
