OWN Theatre Group is a group of Older Women, who entertains and educates audiences at schools, universities, festivals about issues related to Older people. The members are between 60-90 years old and based in Sydney.

The OWN Theatre Group leapt into being in 1987 on the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra. Here, a small band of feisty older women made a lively presentation of original skits and songs to force the attention of politicians and the media to the presence of older women. The message of this gathering was that older women were no longer content to remain invisible and silent about their political concerns.

Today, the Theatre Group continues to entertain and educate audiences at schools, universities, festivals and events across Australia, as they bring their own brand of wit, wisdom and wackiness to highlight the current challenges facing older women.
