This place used to be a great neighbourhood staple: solid food, wine, friendly and v professional staff and live music.
Now it only has live music. Don't expect a friendly greeting with your morning coffee; expect orange-cheese in croissant and dog-chip bacon in your drowned carbonara.
FRIENDLY STAFF and the BEST BURGER I've had in a long time
We're a regular visitor to this great little restaurant in "The Forum" at St. Leonards station. Even if I'm only having a cappuccino, the staff are super friendly and always welcome me like a long lost friend. If it's not too cold, or wet, I always sit outside. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night, there's a $20 meal special, with a glass of beer or wine. Wednesday it's fish, rump steak on Thursdays and Friday's meal is a wagu beef burger. I've tried all these meals, and can highly recormend them, especially the rump with a glass of claret. On Friday nights the place overflows with office staff "winding down" for the weekend. It's so popular that they even have a live musical act. I can't recommend Olio highly enough.
Olio was the 'go to' Cafe in St Leonards for many years. Still making a good coffee. New players on the block are just making much better coffee's. 2010's 5 star review downgraded to 3 stars.
The only cafe/restaurant at the forum to do decent coffee and also not a bad happy hour Wed-Fri. Most of the wait staff are friendly too.
Had a work function here. The place was almost empty except for us. The lady that seemed like the owner acted as if we were putting her out by being there and spending money. The other staff were pleasant. Don't go here if you want to feel welcome
Cheap coffee. $2 for a takeaway small cap. Tasted alright too.
The coffee here tends to be quite good. The food I have tried is very good. Favourites include the gnocchi, the mushroom risotto and the lamb - for now. Look forward to trying the other dishes.
Service is friendly and great
The outdoor seating is excellent in warmer weather.
Very nice restaurant next to St Leonard station. Very nice menu - fantastic mushroom risotto! Good selection of meat. Very friendly staff.
