Orange Occasional Child Care

Occasional Care is designed to let you to attend appointments, go shopping or enjoy a break. We are open 9am to 3pm Monday to Thursday. Our community-based, not-for-profit centre provides child care for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

Operated by Orange City Council, our community-based, not-for-profit Centre provides flexible care in an emergency, short-term or temporary basis for children aged between six weeks and five years. We are open from 9am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and our service is designed to allow you to attend appointments, go shopping or just to have a little break.
We can offer care from a minimum of one hour up to six hours. Our new rate of $9 / hour makes using Occasional Care very affordable. Bookings can be at short notice. We have parents who use our service for shift work changeovers, casual work, attending courses and, most importantly, to help their children to develop social skills in an independent way.
Our qualified staff care for your child /ren in our home-like cottage (siblings can be together) conveniently located in the Orange CBD. Our program is designed to empower children through developmental play activities such as individual and group play, art, craft, puzzles, books, music and literature which is designed to engage the interest of the child to further enhance their skills, build confidence and resilience in a safe and enjoyable environment.
