Here is an event you may want to put in your diary. Macrame, maybe you remember when this activity was in vogue. A class is being offered on October 28. A fun day can be guaranteed. Morning tea included.
I should mentioned it took a whole lot of family members to get the verandah done. To Dylan, Marjorie, Colin, Suzanne and Sjoerd a huge thank you. Could not have got it done without you all. Love your work.
We have finally finished replacing, repairing and painting the verandah. A four month project, but it is done.
Heather Feather jewellery workshops at the cafe. Love her designs.
We will be closed for the Easter long weekend. I wish you all a wonderful and safe weekend.
Today is International Women's Day and again I want to give full credit to the incredible all female team I have working here. It is because of their strength, abilities and generosity that this Cafe is still in operation for nearly six years. I stand before you Leslee, Sam, Denise, Candace and Tasmyn humbled by your kindness and professionalism in managing what can be a very difficult industry. Especially as I have been away on family matters for most of this year. Thank you, your the best.
This means so much to me and especially Denise who made these meals. Thank you both. 😊
2018 is upon us and I want to take this time to wish everyone a Safe and Very Happy New Year. I have added photos from 2017 to show changes over the year. There was a threat of flooding in April, chairs upholstered, a wall removed but what bought me the greatest joy has been the making of a parents’ room. A room for women to feed in private and a change table for parents to use. Next year I would really like to work in the garden-I have grand ideas, now to see if I can bring these ideas into reality. I always feel a sense of optimism with every new year. So I’m ready-2018 bring it on.
This is how it is made. PS we don’t sell these coffees. My staff simply like to play around.
We have taken one internal wall down. I am not sure where I am going with this. Watch this space...
A Golden Gaytime and a Rainbow latte. What baristas do in quiet moments.
We have today made a space for nursing mothers and a change table for little ones who need a nappy change. Hard to take a photo so can't show you (surprise!) and I still need one or two things, but I am happy with it. I hope all who use this space enjoy it to. Alannah
We will be closed on October 2nd, Monday, as it is a Public Holiday. As always, we apologise for any inconvenience. Enjoy your long weekend.
WE ARE GOING TO CLOSE FOR 3 SUNDAYS IN A ROW SEPT 3, 10 AND 17. I APOLOGISE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE, BUT THE TIME HAS COME FOR US TO PUT OUR FAMILY FIRST.
