What happened to me when I ate carbs for 3 days?
Well, I allowed my self 3 days and by day 2 I was done. These photos from left to right are 1 and 2 days of eating what a 'normal' person would eat.
For the last 4-5 years, i'd say I've almost dedicated my life to knowing everything there is to know about low carb, high fat eating. I don't just research, I have to try everything my self and see the affects on my own body and here is the results of just one of my testers.
... The left photo is the normal me on a Keto diet. I am a huge advocate for a workout, however during this time, working out was something I just didn't have time for.
The middle and right photo's are me, 1 and 2 days after the left photo.
What happened in those two days?
I went out for dinner, I ordered a steak and chips with mushroom sauce.
I ate a sandwich for lunch.
I had a sneaky desert, 2 cocktails and somewhere in there, a Harrys hotdog too.
The bloating was noticeable almost immediately and within 2 days I had put on 2.2kgs. I felt heavy.
Everytime I ate, what I would consider to be, a high carb meal, I could never get full. I was constantly hungry and felt like a bottomless pit!
I was tired. I was literally yawning while eating and didn't stop. Feeling tired was SO foreign to me because as you fellow low carbers know, on keto, you are a constant fuel source and now I'm napping like a sloth!
I had head aches.
The brain fog was ridiculous, I could seriously barely string a proper sentence together or answer a question like I knew what I was talking about.
Our bodies are quite adaptable. When people are eating high carb foods as their norm, they probably wouldn't notice most of the things I experienced. However when you have gone without it for a period of time and throw it back in, you really get to see what its doing to you.
As i said above, I gave my self 3 days of eating this way and I couldn't bare lasting the distance.
I've been a fat burner for quite a long time, so for me its quite easy to snap in and out of ketosis and it still took me almost a week to drop the weight I put on in 2 days and to stop feeling bloated.
What this taught me?
Nothing that I didn't already know, Keto is my way of life not just something I do. But hopefully it can teach you something. If you are on the Keto diet - stick with it. Remember why you started. Remember where you started. Remember how far you've come.

If you are looking to start a Keto diet, Well done. Throw out everything you think you know about food. Be open to what you may think isn't the norm. Research. And if you need a little help, again, I'm here.
